Job description

The PMO Head for the data center is responsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office, ensuring effective project and program management practices, and providing strategic direction for all data center-related projects. This role involves managing a team of project managers, overseeing project portfolios, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and Lead PMO: Create and maintain a Project Management Office within the data center, including defining standard methodologies, processes, and governance for project and program management.
  2. Project Portfolio Management: Develop, monitor, and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio that aligns with business objectives and priorities. Ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  3. Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of Program Managers and support staff (6-8 direct repartees). Provide guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure the team's success.
  4. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to align project and program objectives with the data center's strategic goals. Develop and implement a project roadmap that supports business growth and efficiency.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to projects and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure that risk assessments are conducted and appropriate risk management practices are in place.
  6. Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources (including budget, personnel, and equipment) to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  7. Reporting and Analytics: Establish reporting mechanisms to provide regular updates on project status, Budget updates, milestones, and performance to stakeholders. Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  8. Compliance & Governance – Ensure all projects are complaint as per agreed contract terms with partner, necessary statutory compliance is followed on projects. Establish internal auditing process & ensure readiness for external / board audits
  9. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects adhere to industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance processes. Conduct audits for quality checks to maintain compliance.
  10. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including senior management, project sponsors, and team members. Provide transparency on project progress, issues, and opportunities.
  11. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, focusing on enhancing project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
