About You
The Procurement Lead, MRO/CAPEX/Engg items India position is responsible for purchasing of MRO/ CAPEX/ Engg items and other Indirect goods and services for all Kimberly Clark mills in India consumer business.
Reporting: Country Lead - Procurement
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute Procurement of MRO/ CAPEX/ Engg items and other Indirect goods and services for all Kimberly Clark mills in India (US$ 20 Mn) and related contract negotiations in in alignment with Local / Regional guidelines.
Drive the RFQ process, define evaluation criteria, identify, and select suppliers, execute the evaluation process, refine, and validate sourcing and purchasing options, manage buy-in of business unit leaders both locally and regionally.
Responsible to build sound relationships with suppliers and partners (internal and external)
Manage contract information to ensure that portfolio has consistent information and renewals, or termination due date are under control.
Continually look for ways to exceed customer's expectations, increase efficiency implement better processes and achieve cost savings for the areas responsible.
Advise internal customers on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle.
Key Accountabilities:
Supplier evaluation/sourcing
Identify, select, evaluate and together with Senior Country Lead -Procurement determine supplier base.
Work with suppliers to find ways of qualifying/improving supplier performance
Negotiate major items and conditions for all contracts (price, delivery, payment term) along with the project manager and Country Lead Procurement
Implement annual supplier audit and appraisal
Issuing/monitoring/reporting status of PRs and
Receive, check P.R from requisition department, issue P.O and submit for approval on time.
Ensure the correctness of PO's data.
Send P.O to suppliers and email/telephone to suppliers to inform of and ask for counter-signing.
Periodically review open purchase orders investigate as to the reason they remain open.
Keep track of and file P.Os in accordance with Kimberly Clark's procedure.
Internal customer service and control
Ensure contracts in place and updated in system for all services / goods procured as per Kimberly Clar ICC and Legal / Procurement guidelines.
Coordinate closely with and support the related departments like Projects / Engg/ HR/ Admin/ Quality etc.
Refer to the immediate supervisor (Country Procurement Lead) of all purchase orders and internal problems
Alignment with Local / Regional & Global Stakeholders
Understand and communicate local plans with the Regional Team
Work closely with Regional category Team for implementation / cost savings / deriving values in local market with Regionally driven projects
Ensure Localisation is a part of the process and able to communicate and seek alignment with the Regional teams
Cost Saving
Receive cost saving target from Country Procurement Lead and take implementation action
Be a key member of Cost saving team
Initiate cost saving activities to achieve the target
Monitor and follow up the progress to ensure everything is on track and result-oriented
Purchasing-related communication/Complaint handling
Receive complaints from user departments against suppliers for short-shipments, quality problems and other damages not covered by the marine insurance policy and communicate to the suppliers, finding the root causes and require preventive and corrective actions from suppliers in writing.
Follow up to get feedback from suppliers and forward to the relating departments
Propose penalties or compensation level and follow up to get it settled
Handles purchasing-related communication such as letters, reports, memos, and other related correspondences i.e. fax, telephone, email in response to suppliers
Organise the regularly and ad hoc meeting with suppliers for business review and other concerned issues
Audit handling
Organise and maintain all documentation related to procurement in the system
Independently handle Internal / External audits related to the Procurement department
Experience & Skills Required:
Bachelor / Master Degree, in Foreign Trade or Business Administration or business-related fields
Fluent in written and spoken English language.
6+ years of experience in Procurement especially in FMCG industry, payment terms and knowledge of import.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
