Role Description
The role of the Country Head, India role is critical to the success of the FPC global growth strategy, providing in region leadership, commercial management, technical related consultancy, applications, process and standards for FPC and our clients.
This position represents FPC in delivering services to our clients and working with industry partners and suppliers, so will maintain the highest standards of technical and professional performance, and conduct themself with honesty and integrity at all times.
In addition to client-facing roles and responsibilities as FPC’s Country Head, you will be expected to be an active member of our technical services teams, to make a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support FPC’s business objectives.
The immediate day-to-day responsibilities will be to manage delivery successfully for all technical services for FPC in India & APAC regions, which over time will allow sustained growth in these regions. Key responsibilities will be as follows:
- Report to the Global COO and CTO for the commercial and technical delivery, respectively, of all business line activity, acting in accordance with their requests and direction
- Positively contribute to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully achieve and support FPC’s business objectives, ensuring the stable, profitable and successful growth of the India and APAC FPC companies
- Oversee and support the delivery of services in India and APAC regions working with the responsible FPC Service Heads, Program Leads and delivery teams to ensure service delivery quality is achieved, is on time and to budget and in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW) and/or Engagement Letter, together with any other relevant client side documents
- Line management of in region team members
- Acting as a POC for clients and staff in-region and escalating any critical issue to the global COO for operational and and CTO for technical/delivery issues respectively, as necessary
- Identifying, developing and supporting business development opportunities for FPC
- Development of Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW) and/or Engagement Letters for client engagements in India & APAC, and contributing to global opportunities
- Understand customer requirements and business objectives and work proactively with FPC Program Leads / POCs, together with client and other stakeholders to meet and deliver them
- Support, advise and collaborate on technologies, initiatives and solutions, processes and standards for FPC and our clients
- Providing strategic technical and industry expertise and contributing to the identification, development and taking to market of FPC Services and Solutions, both in the India/APAC regions and globally as part of the FPC Innovation Board process
- Represent FPC in a professional manner internally and externally, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for all work performed
- Maintain expertise, knowledge and understanding of industry trends, developments and initiatives
- Identify, develop, deliver and support opportunities for continuous improvement for FPC
- Manage own workload, communicating and escalating any issues to line manager accordingly
Requirements
Working as a part of the FPC Leadership Team, reporting to the Global COO at an executive level and Global CTO (for direct technical services delivery in India and APAC), the responsibilities of the County Head, India, are to:
- Fulfil the legal duties and responsibilities of a Country Head for the FPC India & APAC companies
- Develop and implement an effective business growth strategy in India & APAC
- Provide leadership to FPC personnel in regions
- Provide Commercial and Performance Management of all FPC services in regions
- Champion for all in region Quality Assurance and Control in alignment with FPC’s ISO 9001 & 14001 processes
- Nurture and maintain all relationships required for successful delivery of FPC’s objectives
- Be aware of and manage all challenges to the FPC strategy in region and implement effective risk management as required
- Build and maintain partnership relations with relevant sector organisations across India and APAC regions
- Actively participate in FPC’s global leadership team objectives to enhance the FPC global brand
- Assist in identifying, interviewing and recruiting staff as required for delivery of FPC growth objectives
- Encourage and facilitate a culture of trust, enjoyment and innovation
Experience and Qualifications
The Country Head, India and APAC should possess experience and qualifications in the following:
- Minimum 10 years Controls, Digital Buildings and/or IoT industry experience
- Proven track record in digital facilities related roles e.g. Consultant, Designer, Project Manager or Engineer
- Experienced in client facing delivery management and leadership with highly effective Stakeholder Management and communication skills, including attending project, client and team meetings, document writing and presentation skills
- Proven experience in leading the delivery of IoT related programs / project portfolios
- Strong and effective team leadership and management skills and experience of successfully managing, growing and supervising a team of 25+ professionals with a background in consulting, technical engineering and project management professionals delivering technical services and solutions
- Digital Buildings, control systems, IoT, project management or related Industry training and professional qualifications
- Experience as working as part of a Design Team to develop coordinated designs, including:
- Client requirements gathering and documentation
- Technical Submittal Creation / Review
- SoW and Specification Development
- Competent using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications
In addition to the above, it is desirable if the Country Head, India & APAC, has experience or qualifications in the design, delivery and operation of IoT related systems: - Cloud Platforms (Google, Microsoft, Amazon) and associated technologies such as JSON, UDMI, APIs, Data Lake, Data Analytics, Data / Object Modelling, Object Oriented Design
- Design tools including AutoCAD / BIM / Visio
- Project Management (Waterfall / Agile, AgilePM, Kanban, Scrum, PRINCE2, PPM, or similar)
- BREEAM / LEED, Sustainability and Building Performance Evaluation / Optimisation
- RIBA Stages of Work or international equivalents
- Construction Projects and Contracting
- Systems Testing & Commissioning, FDD and Automated Commissioning Systems
