Title: Team Lead, Branded Research CoE
About the role:
You would be part of a Branded Research Center of Excellence with Research Architecture & Methodologies group. You will support creation of branded research documents research (like it's Magic Quadrant, Critical Capabilities). The CoE will also identify and introduce process innovation and best practices for the research it performs and will help develop new research methods. As a Team Lead, you will manage a small team of Individual Contributors enabling them to support the production process of multiple branded research documents.
What you will do:
- Lead a team of associates, and effectively manage multiple projects and engagements within R&A.
- Balance the team's workload and handle requests for operation support assistance on special projects.
- Collaborate with analysts to optimize project management of Gartner's branded research documents within scheduled timelines.
- Manage process-related activities using established engagement essentials for the creation of branded research documents.
- Support in recruiting, onboarding new associates and building internal knowledge base.
- Define and communicate goals and objectives and conduct performance reviews, in partnership with the Manager.
- Optimize team capacity and responsibilities, monitor standard metrics, address any roadblocks and coach the team associates.
- Consistently look for process and technology optimization to support project management and reporting.
- Support the Team Manager to coach, facilitate, solve work problems, address people-related issues, and be actively involved in the day-to-day activities of the team
- Develop strong process knowledge and support your manager in identifying areas for constant optimization and scale for growth
- Identify training needs and organize training sessions with global workforce development/ team and relevant Research and Advisory Strategy team & Operations teams
- Develop strong business acumen within the team and ensure team members understand their impact to the business
- Track and report on team productivity/efficiency, resource utilization, and capacity (addressing any roadblocks)
- Create an environment oriented to teamwork, collaboration, open communication, creative thinking, cohesive team effort, and workplace integrity
- Oversee the successful implementation of global research policies or processes.
- Ensure the high quality of deliverables – making sure regular checks are in place before sharing the deliverable to the stakeholders.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7 - 10 years of experience in the research / content industry, minimum 5-6 years of experience in a project management / center of excellence or similar environment as part of a global corporation.
- 1 year team lead experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (eg Microsoft Project, excel, Jira)
- PMP and PRINCE2 or other relevant certification preferred.
- Experience in managing multiple senior stakeholders across geographies.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and project management background will be essential
- Real-life experience in driving to consensus, moving forward, and getting things done amongst large, global, and diverse groups of constituents
- Good understanding of Gartner Magic Quadrants, authoring guidelines and process is preferable.
- Strong experience in mentoring and training junior staff
- Proven ability to solve problems and bring timely resolution to on-going issues
- Ability to absorb and parse quickly large amounts of information from various sources
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
