Job description
The Mechanical Engineering (ME) will be part of a Sustaining Engineering team and will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of medical products for Philips Business units.
Responsibilities include providing mechanical engineering support for lifecycle /sustaining projects for systems that are in production. Activities include Root Cause Analysis, coming up with design solutions and support related verification and validation activities to implement design changes.
Responsibilities also include developing conceptual and detailed design of structural elements of carts that involve die-cast, sheet-metal and machined components, along with design of plastic enclosures to meet cosmetic and Philips design language requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Work with Mechanical Architecture, Systems Engineering, Electrical and other cross functional team members to design structural elements of medical carts to meet all system level functional and architectural requirements.
Support existing systems in production including investigating root cause of product issues found in manufacturing and early life customer systems and implement product design solutions to improve manufacturability and prevent recurrence of defects.
Drive/execute strategic projects according to business goals across multiple functional units including meeting internal stakeholder expectations as well as mechanical engineering objectives.
Develop medical carts to meet all functional, mechanical and reliability requirements including complying to IEC 60601 standards.
Engage with stake holders and drive design and development activities and be responsible for design decisions that are critical for the product to meet form, fit and function requirements.
Write Module level requirements document capturing mechanical, electrical, and other functional requirements and oversee all design and development activities of the modules.
Lead prototype development and test activities to ensure electronic module meets all system level test requirements, and work with supplier for production release.
Review, create and modify mechanical 3D designs, and 2D drawings in Solidworks and potentially other programs for legacy products.
Drive continuous improvement projects related to design implementation, manufacturing process, product quality and reliability.
You're the right fit if have the below experiences:
8+ years of Experience in Electromechanical systems. User Interfaces, Joysticks, Control Panels, Touch panels etc.
Proficient in 3D CAD designs. CREO (pro/ENGINEER) or any similar software's.
Experience in components design for appearance parts, structural parts, connector, cable, with involving material in Plastic, Rubber, Sheet Metal, Die-casting and Standard parts.
