About the Role
This opening is for a Structural Modeling (FEA) Engineer position in the centralized simulation and modeling group. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated FEA engineer who is excited and passionate about contributing to product development using simulation and modeling tools and techniques. In addition to product development, modeling engineer will have an opportunity to influence design decisions, troubleshoot product issues and solve customer issues.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural finite element analysis (FEA) including static, linear, nonlinear, modal, structural dynamics (vibration & shock) and thermal, for a range of solutions and load types,
- Structural and failure analysis of brittle materials like ceramic and quartz
- Perform seismic structural analysis and evaluation for semiconductor equipment manufacturing systems
- Visualize modeling results, analyze the data, generate report with clear conclusions and recommendations
- Provide simulation analysis driven design guidance
- Perform simulation DoE to find optimum design/process conditions.
- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot problems and provide guidance to resolve difficult process issues using modeling analysis
- Validate simulation/model with experimental data. Collect/measure data as needed for model validation.
- Work closely with engineering and process teams in different product units
Requirements:
- Master of Science in mechanical or aerospace Engineering, physics, or related field with at least 2-3 years of industrial experience. Advanced degrees preferred but not necessary.
- Strong fundamental understanding of solid dynamics, thermodynamics and brittle materials.
- Experience in FEA, heat transfer, fluid-structure interaction, and non-linear material analysis
- Experience with 2D and 3D analysis as well as parallel/cluster computing of the large models.
- Experience in CFD analysis is plus but not required.
- Flexible to work with global team located in different continent.
Desired Skills:
- Expert in using commercial CFD modeling software such as Ansys Mechanical, Abaqus, SimSolid or LS-Dyna
- Excellent data analysis skills, including numerical and statistical analysis of data.
- Experience with python scripting and/or Matlab scripting is plus
- Excellent documentation and communications skill
