Summary of the Role
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) & Head IT will play a pivotal role in shaping the IT strategy and infrastructure of a leading manufacturing organisation with a retail footprint across the country. This role encompasses the development and execution of IT strategies that align with organisational goals, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT operations, leading ERP management, and fostering innovation through technology. The CIO will lead a team of IT professionals to support business operations, drive digital transformation, and maintain a secure and robust IT environment to support a workforce of 10,000 employees and a turnover of 7000 crores. Key Responsibilities IT Strategy and Execution - Devise and continually update the IT and IT applications strategy to support organisational goals. - Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative IT solutions. - Define and implement IT policies, processes, and best practices. Infrastructure Management - Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of IT systems and infrastructure. - Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. - Provide technical guidance to regional and head office teams for project execution. Security Management - Secure the organisation's network, data, and IT services against cyber threats. - Conduct regular evaluations of IT security and implement necessary measures. - Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans. ERP Management - Lead ERP projects, ensuring proper function and user support. - Facilitate coordination between users, vendors, and the ERP development team for system updates and improvements. Training and Support - Develop IT training programs for staff, especially for changes in ERP. - Offer escalated IT support, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication. Budget and Resource Management - Manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for infrastructure, applications, and projects. Leadership and Team Management\- Provide mentorship and leadership to the IT team, promoting a culture of high performance and collaboration. Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure IT alignment with business objectives. Education & Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. - 10+ years of IT experience in a manufacturing setup, with significant experience in managing SAP/Oracle at both head office and manufacturing units. - Proven experience in SAP/Oracle implementation, support, and rollout, especially in logistics or finance modules. Competencies - Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems, and applications. - Excellent strategic planning, budget management, and vendor relationship skills. - Familiarity with regulatory requirements and business practices in India. - Strong business acumen with the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals.
