Job Summary:

A Purchase Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process sourcing suppliers negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely and costeffective acquisition of materials goods and services. The role involves collaboration with various departments to meet organizational needs and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Vendor Management:

Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.

Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.

Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.

Material Planning:

Collaborate with production and project teams to determine material requirements.

Develop and implement material procurement strategies.

Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production schedules.

Cost Control:

Analyze and compare supplier bids.

Optimize costs through negotiation and value engineering.

Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure materials meet specified standards.

Conduct supplier audits to assess quality management systems.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.

Prepare and manage purchase orders and contracts.

Generate reports on procurement metrics and performance.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with company policies industry regulations and legal requirements.

Stay informed about market trends changes in regulations and industry best practices.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

Monitor global and regional economic factors affecting the supply chain.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Previous experience in procurement preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

Knowledge of legal and contractual aspects of procurement.

Analytical and problemsolving skills.
