Position Overview: As a Functional Safety Engineer in the Automotive domain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles' electronic systems. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain functional safety processes throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities: Functional Safety Assessment:

Perform functional safety assessments and analyses for automotive electronic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262. Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment:

Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA) to identify and mitigate potential safety risks in electronic control units (ECUs) and software. Safety Requirements Development:

Define and document safety requirements for automotive systems, ensuring traceability and alignment with safety goals. Safety Concept Development:

Contribute to the development of safety concepts and strategies for electronic systems, including hardware and software architectures. Collaboration with Development Teams:

Work closely with hardware and software development teams to integrate safety requirements into the design, implementation, and testing phases. Fault Tree Analysis:

Conduct fault tree analysis (FTA) to identify potential system failures and develop strategies to mitigate the impact on safety. Functional Safety Validation:

Plan and execute functional safety validation activities, including verification and validation tests to ensure compliance with safety requirements. Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety-related reports. Communication:

Effectively communicate safety concepts, requirements, and findings to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in functional safety engineering for automotive applications.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry. In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards, particularly ISO 26262, and their application to automotive electronic systems. Experience with hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA) and safety requirements development. Familiarity with safety concepts, architectures, and strategies for both hardware and software components. Strong understanding of fault tree analysis (FTA) and other safety analysis methods. Practical experience in the implementation and validation of functional safety processes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to team projects.
