Job description
Designation : Manager - Application Engineering
Responsibilities:
1. Charger Project Leadership: Lead and oversee the development, design, and implementation of EV portable charger projects.
2. Charger Function Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge and experience in charger functions to drive project success and innovation.
3. Technical Support Strategy: Develop and implement technical support strategies specifically focused on charger integration into products or systems.
4. Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous testing, validation, and adherence to high-performance standards for charger functionalities.
5. Documentation Management: Oversee the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and application notes for effective charger utilization.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration among hardware engineers, software developers, and system integrators for successful charger integration.
7. Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand needs, and propose tailored charger solutions.
8. Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for chargers within projects.
9. Field Support Management: Manage on-site support requirements, optimizing charger installations and functionalities.
10. Motor Controller Knowledge: Leverage additional knowledge and experience in motor controller units to complement and enhance charger projects.
11. Departmental Activities:
· Kaizen Implementation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
· Project Progress Tracking: Monitor project milestones, track progress, and prepare presentations for Management Review Meetings (MRM).
· Vehicle Benchmarking: Coordinate benchmarking activities with vehicles to assess and enhance charger performance.
Motor Characterization: Conduct motor characterization activities in conjunction with our Motor Control Unit (MCU) to optimize performance.
Essential Requirements
1) Qualification - B.Tech Electrical or Electronics Engineering
2) Experience
Minimum 8 Year of Experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in Electric Vehicles Industry.
Professional working experience in EV products such as EV charger (Off board Portable), Motor controller and Traction Motors such as PMSM/BLDC/Induction motors.
3) Competence /skills requirement
Domain Knowledge: Charger functions and operations,
Chargers functions and testing with loads/battery
Knowledge of Electrical testing, Performance and Protection parameters.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Clear communication and documentation expertise
Collaborative approach for cross-functional leadership
Customer-centric mindset with robust interpersonal skills
Desirable Requirements:
Motor Control, Traction Inverters, Motors in EV industry, Position Sensors
Firmware/Software Development Life cycle
Automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UART
Software tools such as VectorCAN, CANalyser, PCAN
Diagnostic communication protocol used in automotive such as UDS.
DVP testing and relevant standards (ISO-16750)
EMI/EMC testing and relevant standards
Leadership / Team handling experience
Project management abilities
