Install server, configure application, monitor server, networking Server Administrator, system admin, system administrator, linux Infrastructure, Private Cloud, Public Cloud, maintaining VMs, Provisioning VMs Apache, Ngnix, PFSense, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Samba, Docker, FreeNAS, ZFS Backup, Scheduled scripts, firewalls, Ensure security resolving hardware, resolving software, troubleshoot, Diagnosing, root cause, problem-solving network storage, file system, shell scripts SENIOR SERVER / SYSTEM / LINUX ADMINISTRATOR Job brief We are looking for a Server Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our internal software, hardware and networks. This is not an L1 L2 L3 type of outsourced services environment. This is to manage our internal data centers. We are completely on Open Source stack and need people who are strong in administering Linux and Open Source applications. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, most important is to maintain it consistently. Responsibilities Install, Configure and Maintain the Servers and the Private Cloud and Public Cloud instances and network storage servers (all open source), and networks (Cisco) including hardware, system software, and applications. Install and maintain new open source applications based on business needs Ensure backup jobs and other scheduled scripts are run regularly. Identifying problems proactively and resolve them before the impacts are felt by the business or by Xerago team. Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise. Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely. Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls Upgrade systems with new releases and models Ensure no gaps found during our Internal and External Audit (GDRP / SOC2) Requirements And Skills Proven experience as a Server Administrator Knowledge of Linux essential Knowledge and understanding of Apache, Ngnix, PFSense, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Samba, Docker, FreeNAS, ZFS, etc. Should be good at understanding how systems work and use first principle knowledge to solve issues Should have strong understanding of network storage, ZFS filesystem, Private Clouds (Provisioning and maintaining VMs and Containers), Servers and Networks Should be able to go through documentation, figure out root cause, work on conf files, shell scripts, and handle troubleshooting.
