Job Description

We, at Jet2 (UK’s third largest airlines and the second largest tour operator), have set up a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre in Pune, India. We are looking for a strong hands-on Technical Specialist who will be doing solutioning for multiple products/applications from technology standpoint from India centre. The responsibility includes overall technical vision, solutioning, building technical capabilities and assisting teams on technical front for strong execution and to overcome technical impediments. You will be responsible to work directly with the technology teams across India and the UK to shape solutioning strategies from a technical standpoint.

 

This role requires a strong technical expertise in the latest technology landscape and trends to propose highly scalable future ready solutions. You should have g ood familiarity with frontend and backend technologies. You must be familiar with software design methods and techniques. You should demonstrate excellent analytical skills and be good at analyzing technical requirements.

 

Responsibilities :

 

• Work closely with stakeholders of varying levels to understand business requirements, for which you'll create low level solution designs and provide estimates that help build business roadmaps.
• Designing transformational technology solutions to meet the business requirements in accordance with industry best practices.
• Analyse risk, identify dependencies and produce high-level estimates to support the business in the creation roadmaps for feature delivery.
• Be an advocate for new technology, facilitating proof-of-concepts to trial new techniques
• Provide expertise to project teams, including mentoring and guiding other team members.
• Enforcing development practices and ensure the quality delivery.
• Working collaboratively and having very strong communication skills, especially in teaching complex concepts.
• Identifying and leading internal strategic initiatives, serving as an active contributor to the overall knowledge base and expertise of the community.
• Lead the investigation & architect resolution of complex systems/software problems.
• Plan and design the structure of a technology solution.
• Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
• Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions.
• Perform technical Code Reviews, assist in troubleshooting and guide the team members on different aspects of technology.
• Have a “forward looking” view in terms of solutioning, POC’s and hand over to delivery teams for actual implementation; Assist delivery teams during implementation as required.

 

Essential Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 13+ years of hands-on application development work experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a technical architect/specialist.
• Prior experience of working with UK or other regions such as North America/EMEA/APAC.
• Proven experience working in a senior technical role delivering high-performance enterprise-level solutions at scale
• Great communication skills, able to talk about complex technical topics in a non-technical fashion
• A passion for new technology and a drive to constantly improve the technical solutions we deliver
• Experience delivering systems using the following concepts – Microservice architectures , Event-driven architectures
• Must have strong knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Programming, Analysis and Design concepts.
• Must have extensive experience in the development and unit testing (automation) of applications using Microsoft .NET Core, RESTful services, Web API, Angular, C#, and SQL Server.
• Must have hands-on experience in Database design, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps/Octopus, etc.)
• Must have knowledge and experience in SOLID principles and industry best practices using Microsoft Technologies.
• Experience in handling non-functional requirements such as performance, security, load, scaling, and usability of applications.
• Must have comprehensive experience in creating designs for front-end applications like Angular / NextJs
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and result oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Working experience of Agile/SCRUM/Kanban methodologies.
• Deep understanding of the latest technology trends.

 

Nice to Have :

• TOGAF certification.
• Exposure to Azure or any other cloud platforms.
