Plant & Energy Solutions Global Power Plant Solutions Grid Interconnection Excellence
Global Power Plant Solutions (GPPS) is a part of Product Strategy & Integration that enables Vestas' Product Strategy making sure that Vestas always has the right comprehensive product offerings to stay ahead of competitors. GPPS has a global reach into regions to support on electrical analysis for plants, BoP and grid compliance assessment, along with co-ordination among regions for knowledge sharing and training on various topic of interests.
Grid Interconnection Excellent within GPPS team has footprint in Chennai and Denmark. This is functional growth arm of GPPS with experts from industry that make direct impact for plant grid interconnection in complex grid condition using new technologies and solutions. Our role is to support the Vestas regional teams for Wind and hybrid power plant grid interconnection studies and grid code compliance solutions.Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be to support the Vestas Technical Sales globally for grid interconnection issues and analysis various aspect of the WPP to meet the grid interconnection requirements mainly focused on wind power plant
Simulation and modelling of the wind or hybrid Power Plant including WTG, PV and battery storage (knowledge of grid forming solution is advantage)
Studying grid interconnection requirement and grid codes compliance
Implementing site specific grid interconnection solutions
Design or review the design for the BoP (balance of plant) for wind power plant
Provide training to the reginal engineers in power systems analysis
Assist in development of tools and automation of the calculation methods
Presentations and meeting with Grid operators/customers for project specific needs
Work in close co-ordination with the Regional Technical Sale support team and other global functions for site specific solutions
Technical Report writing
Qualifications
Bachelors / Masters in power system or PhD with application to the power systems or power electronics
Minimum 5+yrs industry experience Out of which minimum 6 years in Power system analysis
Expert level knowledge of PSCAD or PSS/E or PF
Able to understand and interpretate complex grid code requirements
Proven track record in the power systems modelling and analysis along with expert level knowledge in any one of the areas including hybrid plant analysis using PV inverter and BESS modelling, weak grid analysis, system impact assessment, harmonic assessment and filter design, P2X system assessment, off-grid system modelling and assessment
Product knowledge of STATCOM/synchronous condenser/SVC/HVDC system design and control/BESS system (with Grid forming technology) is advantage
Experience of substation design and protection design is advantage
Experience in renewable grid interconnection analysis for compliance assessment is advantage

Should possess good communication and presentation skills
You speak and write English fluently
Able to train new engineers
