Senior Manager - Ceded Re Technical Operations

DISCOVERyour opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include

Ceded Reinsurance is a strategic function within AXA XL in charge of defining and implementing the reinsurance strategy as well as administrating all reinsurance treaties through their lifecycle. Ceded Re is part of the AXA XL Risk Management function, the AXA XL Chief Risk Officer being member of AXA XL Leadership team.

Ceded Re Operations team is responsible for the administration of all Treaty Reinsurance business written within AXA XL. Ceded Re Operations is composed of 5 key poles: Technical Operations, Technical Accounting, Data & Operations Reporting, Central Operations and Retrocession Operations.

Under the management of the Head of Retrocession Operations based in the U.K., the Senior Manager Technical Operations is responsible for:

. Treaty / contracts Set up & ceded premiums payment : Coordinate and oversee the treaty / contracts set up process in the operating tool (Destiny) to ensure accuracy of set up and payment of ceded premiums on time as well as adjusted premiums (when applicable). Lead discussion with underwriters to understand and ensure accuracy of cession of assumed business.

. Bordereaux Issuance : Coordinate and oversee the bordereaux preparation and issuance to brokers and reinsurers as per contracts requirements.

. Claims Management : Coordinate and oversee the correct booking of retroceded claims and ensure that reinsurers are notified on time as per contracts requirements.

. Financial Close: Contribute to the financial close process for technical operations (accruals) with smooth and efficient interactions with finance team to ensure that all deliveries are delivered timely.

. Regulatory and Operational Reporting : Coordinate the Technical Operations production and submission on time of regulatory reporting (e.g. e-Declare for Group) and all operational reporting required (e.g. RI dashboard, …).

. Internal Control : For technical operations, coordinate and oversee the completion on time through smooth and efficient collaboration with Finance team notably of internal controls with evidence populated in SCALA when applicable.

. Project : Act as a Subject Matter Expert for any project impacting Retrocession Technical Operations and coordinate the contribution of the team to this project.

. Ad hoc : Manage appropriately and on time any ad hoc requests on Retrocession Technical Operations from Group, Risk Management (e.g. presentation to the AXA XL Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee or Reinsurance Committee) or finance team (e.g. Tax audits).

. Management : Manage a team of 4 team members based in Gurgaon - India.

Required Skills and Abilities:

. Graduate / Post Graduate with couple of years' of experience within Re/insurance industry.

. Team handling skills/experience, ability to manage team along with supporting the team as SME.

. Positive, innovative and make it better mindset to bring operational efficiencies.

. Experience in MS-Excel and PowerPoint is required - support segment KPI and management reporting.

. Self-starter who is solution orientated and has the ability to work within a team environment.

. Independently develops, communicates and oversees the execution of solutions to resolve issues persistent within the portfolio.

. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal clients and customers.

. Organized with the ability to sort multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and detail orientated.

. Ability to use initiative in day to day activities to resolve issues or flag to management for review.
