As an
Application Support Technical Lead at HDFC Securities you will be responsible for spearheading the maintenance and support of a robust critical real-time and heavy batch processing infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge technologies for ensuring the continuous reliability and optimal performance of our Trading platforms. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including application developers, IT operations, vendors, server, OS & network, and storage specialists, to achieve and maintain optimal system stability and uptime across all IT applications and platforms This role will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and maintaining a proactive approach to ensuring the stability and reliability of the entire technology landscape. KRA of the Role System Stability and Uptime Optimization - Achieve and maintain optimal system stability and uptime across all IT applications and platforms. Compliance and Security Management - Ensure strict adherence to RBI and SEBI regulations, maintaining the highest levels of security and data protection, management of end of life/end of support components, patching of application/OS/infrastructure components. Incident and Problem Management - Efficiently manage and resolve incidents and problems, minimizing impact on business operations. IT Capacity Planning and Resource Management - Conduct period capacity planning exercise to ensure IT infrastructure is scalable and can meet current and forecasted business demands. Collaboration with internal and external Application / Engineering Teams / product vendors / service providers - Foster effective collaboration with engineering teams, infrastructure, and vendors to enhance application performance and reliability. Monitoring and Performance Analytics - Utilize advanced monitoring tools and analytics to ensure system performance meets or exceeds standards. Compliance and Regulatory Reporting - Ensure all compliance and regulatory reporting requirements are met with accuracy and timeliness. Strategic Planning and Implementation - Align IT support strategies with the broader business goals of HDFC Securities. Stakeholder Communication and Management - Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and senior management. Team Leadership and Skill Enhancement - Lead and develop a highly skilled technical support team capable of managing complex IT environments. Key skills Technical Troubleshooting - Ability to analyse system logs, monitoring data, and user reports to identify, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues. Root Cause Analysis - Skills in conducting thorough root cause analysis for systemic issues, using logs, metrics, and tracing data to pinpoint underlying problems. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving - Capacity to think critically under pressure and devise effective solutions to restore functionality with minimal downtime. Communication and Collaboration - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Also, ability to work collaboratively with IT teams, developers, business analysts, and external vendors to coordinate problem-solving efforts. Customer Service Orientation - Strong focus on delivering exceptional service to end-users, with the patience and empathy to handle support queries effectively. Qualifications, Experience & Expertise A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with a background in Systems and Software Engineering. 10+ years of experience with 5+ years’ experience in supporting and managing critical Realtime and heavy batch processing Applications. 5+ years of experience in designing, automating, maintaining, and optimizing observability platforms (logging, metric, and tracing). Hands-on experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux), database management (SQL, Oracle), and cloud services (AWS). Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Knowledge of application monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic) and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA). Knowledge of networking concepts, load balancing, and security best practices for on-premises and cloud environments. Experience in system administration, network operations, or software development, typically ranging from 3 to 5 years for mid-level positions and 5+ years for senior roles. Strong grasp of Java and JVM-based languages (e.g., Kotlin, Scala) for troubleshooting and optimizing Java applications and familiarity with Java build tools (Maven, Gradle) Proficiency in container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications. Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for Java and cloud-native applications. Location The role can be based in our office at MIDC Andheri in Mumbai .
