Job Title: Senior Desktop Engineer
Location: India
SCOPE Provides extensive user and system support, investigation and project implementation across systems utilized by client users. Ensure maximum uptime of client systems with minimum impact to the business. Performs extensive troubleshooting and design of hardware, software, and applications. Communicates effectively and timely with clients, vendors, peers, and management.
Accountabilities & Essential Functions - Work alongside the Leads and Managers to help define technical processes
- Create technical documentation to provide consistent guidelines.
- Also provide technical review for documents created by others
- Identify technical trends and problems in the environment.
- Design and implement solutions that help eliminate or improve those issues
- Work to improve the overall end user experience regarding their technical needs, including hardware and software
- Take ownership of technical projects that are assigned to the team and bring them to completion
- Technically oversee the technicians assigned to projects to ensure SLAs and deadlines are met
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) guidance to the team as needed, in addition to regular trainings to ensure the team is kept up to date on relevant technical advancements or changes in the environment
- Act as a technical escalation point to Desktop Technician roles
- Affectively communicate both verbal and written, technical and non-technical communication.
- Proactively uses good business judgment and communications to keep IS Management and business liaisons informed regarding status, risks, obstacles, and other related information
- Exhibit a positive attitude, good teamwork, professionalism & interpersonal skills, proactively seeking solutions and taking initiative where necessary.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with business associates
Skills & Certifications - Ability to plan and prioritize workload with no supervision
- Expert in troubleshooting complex issues
- Expert in project management
- Expert in the use of Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM)
- Expert in the use of MDMs to monitor and administer mobile devices
- Expert in building and maintaining Windows Images (OSD)
- Expert in supporting MacOS
- Proficient in PowerShell
Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 4+ years as a Desktop Engineer
