Job Title: Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer - Process Plant Job Overview: Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer with expertise in field instrument design to join our dynamic team in the field of process plants. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining field instrumentation systems, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the industrial sector. Responsibilities: Field Instrumentation Design: Develop detailed designs for field instrumentation systems, including selection and specification of sensors, transmitters, and other devices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate field instruments into the overall plant designs. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. PLC and DCS Programming: Program and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) for process control applications. Implement logic and control strategies to optimize plant operations, considering field instrument inputs. Instrumentation Selection and Specification: Select and specify field instrumentation devices based on process requirements. Ensure compatibility and integration with existing control systems. HMI Development: Design and develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for efficient plant monitoring and control, incorporating field instrument data. Create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for operators. System Integration and Commissioning: Oversee the integration of field instrumentation systems into the overall plant infrastructure. Conduct system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of field instruments. Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS): Design and implement Safety Instrumented Systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, incorporating field instrument inputs. Conduct Functional Safety Assessments (FSAs) and ensure SIL (Safety Integrity Level) compliance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of field instrument designs, programming, and configurations. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular project status updates to management and project teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the process plant industry, with a focus on field instrument design. Proficiency in PLC and DCS programming. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IEC, ISA, etc.). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with process safety and functional safety concepts. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with advanced control strategies and optimization techniques. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems. Project management experience.
