Mandatory Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 Years of Working experience on Application Packaging
- Windows Installer (MSI), Microsoft App-v, Citrix XenApp, VMware ThinApp
- Specialist Level Skills in Flexera AdminStudio, Windows Application Virtualization Offerings like Microsoft App-v, Citrix XenApp etc.,
- Good knowledge of Application Package distribution tools (SCCM 2007/2012, HP CAE, Altiris)
- Good knowledge of Image Engineering tools and processes (Microsoft Deployment Tools, SCCM 2007/2012)
- Good Knowledge of Client Virtualization Services (CVS)
- Knowledge on VBScript, PowerShell
- Good knowledge of the Windows registry, file and folder security, local/domain user security and general operating system
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex and escalated Application issues using tools such as Process Monitor, Process Explorer, Dependency Walker and Installrite
- Excellent Communication Skills ( Oral and E-Mail )
- Working knowledge on VMware Workstation
- 8:30AM –5:00PM EST base work Shift, plus any other time as necessary.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide customer with submission support for Packaging Requests – Package Request Form (PRF) creation:
- Validate the requirements generated by the application owner
- Work with the Application Owner to resolve any issues identified with requirements
- Advise the Application Owner of the complexity category of the Packaging Request
- Obtain sign-off of the Packaging Request by Application Owners
- Upload the Packaging Request to the packaging workflow tool
- Maintain records of applications, Application Owners, versions and packaging status for all the applications in the applications list.
- Perform integration testing of Application Packages in customer Controlled Test Environment (CTE) for the Software Distribution framework.
- Tests conducted are deployment test and a 'Basic Functionality Test'.
- Provide support for UAT:
- Prepare the UAT environment at test center or locally as agreed with customer
- Coordinate the scheduling if UAT testing with customer Application Owner(s)
- Notify and update relevant systems with UAT status (Failure/Pass)
- If passed, notify the software distribution operator to distribute the packaging from CTE environment to live environment for deployment to the end-users.
- Store test results
- Carry out incident and root cause analysis for incidents arising out of integration and UAT testing.
- Daily reporting on the status of each request
- Communicating with Client contacts, Client vendors, and Client end-users, as necessary.
