Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced Manager to help build standardized Financial Planning and Analysis services to be leveraged across all of our speedboats, functions, and theaters. Our operating model revolves around FP&A resources located next to the business that leverages a deep understanding of the operating model and long term goals to provide  strategic advice and analysis. These embedded resources leverage a Center of Excellence that provides standardized recurring FP&A services to them and their business partners. This person will be responsible for the design and execution of several cross-functional FP&A activities, which are divided into two central teams within our Center of Excellence: One team is focused on OPEX and headcount management and related reporting activities while the other team is focused on pipeline to margin reporting and analytics.

• Leverage past experience performing FP&A activities and business partnering to drive cross-functional alignment between Functions, Theaters, and Business Units
• Own the end to end process for the team by reviewing existing workloads, identifying opportunities for standardization & efficiency, and driving changes in the operating procedures with a heavy emphasis on scalability
• Connect the dots across various FP&A Function see the larger picture as well evaluate the impact at a micro level
• Develop and implement a strategy for documentation and cross-training that allows for the seamless transition of work across pooled resources based on availability and bandwidth
• Proactively identify opportunities to drive a balanced workload that minimizes the peaks and valleys typically driven by bespoke monthly and quarterly close processes
• Develop a process for quickly ingesting new service requests, assessing for overlaps with existing services, standardizing across all teams, documenting the playbook in support of the service, implementing the new service, and maintaining its accuracy, consistency, and timeliness post implementation
• Gather and analyze data to solve problems and evaluate scenarios and support decision making
• Provide and present meaningful, concise and clear analysis, including variance analysis to senior management on financial challenges and performances
• Review month/quarter close activities as deemed necessary
• Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data analysis
• PROACTIVELY look at standardization and Automation opportunities across the different Product Lines and Regions
• Provide insight on the goals, forecasts, and financial performance of business areas across the organization
• Manage and lead a team , with a heavy emphasis around training the team on standard FP&A principles and operating procedures
• Communicate effectively with team and business partners to build relationships and present actionable and insightful recommendations

Qualifications

Your Experience

• CA or MBA with bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent military experience required
• 10+ years of related experience in FP&A with a large US MNC as a Lead / Manager
• Experience with SAP or large ERP systems a plus
• Ability to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings
• Thorough working knowledge of Finance, basic accounting, and business analysis including experience with key financial processes such as monthly/quarterly close, forecasting and Annual Planning
• Independently and proactively analyze financial information and develop solutions to complex problems
• Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to partner with key stakeholders to optimize processes across the domain
• Ability to collaborate with the respective business/service functions supporting the vision and mission of PANW
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organization skills paired with strong written & oral communications skills
• Excellent technical acumen with a prior exposure to major ERP systems such as Oracle & SAP(preferred)
• Prior experience in transitioning/migrating FP&A work from onshore to offshore delivery centers will be an advantage
• Prior experience in Corporate FP&A will be an advantage
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members
