Project Coordinator, Production Books

Production, by incorporating standardized systems and workflows, manages the process of producing content with good and consistent quality metadata in order to support our role as an ePublisher. This allows our global audiences to use our products through a variety of reading devices, both electronic and paper.

We work with vendors that incorporate our workflows, automate processes wherever possible, follow standardized procedures and create our content in full text XML which is the essential foundation for producing materials that can be utilized in the electronic environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Coordinator (m/f/d) who wants to join our book production department on a full-time basis at the earliest opportunity.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensuring timely and high-quality book publications in accordance with Springer Nature guidelines and production standards.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the entire print and online book publishing process for a specific portfolio of book projects in all stages – post-acquisition, production, post-publication – in close collaboration with our full-service vendors.
  • Working closely with various departments within the company, coordinating with colleagues at all levels of the organization to ensure smooth processes.
  • Managing your own book projects to identify practical improvement opportunities. Here, you will be responsible for the timely and high-quality implementation of the projects.
  • Actively advising and supporting our international service providers, authors, editors, and publishing colleagues at all stages of production.

Your Profile

  • You have solid knowledge in process optimization and workflow automation, with experience in implementing solutions that enhance business outcomes.
  • Experience with print and online publication formats and tools (XML, HTML, ePub).
  • Very good spoken and written command of English
  • Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace and La-TeX.
  • Analyzing and visualizing data, as well as data-driven insights, are familiar to you.
  • You enjoy working in a global team in a complex, diverse, and constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them as needed.

At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive. We empower our colleagues and value their diverse perspectives as we strive to attract, nurture and develop the very best talent.
