Digital & Process Excellence Team

Pharma/Life Sciences industry is making rapid strides in leveraging Digital & Analytics into the business operating models. With rapid consumerization of technology, healthcare and life sciences players along with the regulators are now looking for novel ways to identify, engage doctors and patients to improve the health outcomes. Our Digital & Process Excellence team plays a critical role in enabling our strategy and business models with the right Digital & Technology backbone. From designing engagement platforms for our customers and partners, driving efficiency and quality in operations and expediting the research outcomes in our R&D – the team is tasked with bringing the thought leadership of leveraging technology for delivering business outcomes. The team, consisting of business consultants, product/program managers and technology architects, primarily operates as an internal consulting organization tasked with ensuring continuous process improvement and driving innovation.

Job Description



The role is expected to be a strategic partner for our business teams and a conduit to bring DPEx organization together for multiple countries across two big regions – AAA ( Asia, Africa, Australia NZ) and LATAM ( Brazil, Colombia, Chile ++) , balancing the needs of business and delivering the solutions with right bent of technical standards, set up for scale and easy to support.

The role will drive stronger partnership within the countries in implementation of projects , own commercial digital efforts & investments to further enhance Sales & Marketing capability and drive the outcomes set up for each project.

To enable this vision, the individual will work independently/ within DPEx teams across the global and collaborate with cross-functional resources to deliver: 

  1. Strategy that aligns with business priorities and enables new business models that add competitive advantage to business.
  2. Building thought leadership and expertise in emerging technologies and creatively applies it to different needs of the business.
  3. Driving continuous Business Process Simplification, Improvement and Excellence.
  4. Implementation of projects within time and budget addressing critical business needs leveraging appropriate technology.
  5. Driving and Ensuring benefit realization of various implemented projects.
  6. Sustaining and maintaining a world class Digital infrastructure and Application landscape.

A) Domain Knowledge :-

  1. Excellent Functional knowledge of Sales and Marketing in Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, E-commerce domain
  2. Good understanding and implementation experience of CRM platforms , architecture and establishing governance in B2B environment
  3. Experience in supporting large user base of field force across time zones, driving adoption and value outcomes
  4. Experience in leading and implementation of Sales & Marketing transformation programs
  5. Partner with commercial excellence & digital marketing teams to support data & analytics requirements for “ Sales force Effectiveness ” & “ Marketing Effectiveness
  6. Lead data management (management, governance, architecture) to drive automated reviews, dashboards along with technical & CoE team members.

B) B usiness Process Experience & Digital:

  1. Ability to identify and leverage Best Practices and Digital Technology trends across Industries for Pharma business processes and employee collaboration needs.
  2. Capability to lead business process improvement engagements using Digital Technologies and allied change management
  3. Experience in automating Business processes especially Sales & Marketing processes using traditional and digital technologies like Mobility – Mobile Apps / Social Collaboration / Analytics / Cloud Computing / Big Data etc.
  4. Capability of creating Digital Technology enabled solutions addressing critical business needs.

C)  Functional & Geography Experience :

  1. Understanding & functional knowledge of corporate functions ( HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal & Compliance and across ) in Pharmaceuticals or any other industry is an added advantage.
  2. Understanding & Experience in managing diverse teams across time zones, regional IT laws, compliance and data privacy requirements
  3. Prior experience as Product manager and/or Engagement lead
  4. Consulting experience for B2B /Institutional business on commercial programs (Digital & Analytics interventions for Sales & Marketing)

Key Responsibilities

Candidates would be expected to lead independently /minimal supervision:

  1. Understand and map business requirement & develop functional specifications for above Digital Initiatives
  2. Conceptualization & implementation of Business Solutions leveraging Digital Technology platforms to meet business requirements
  3. Conceptualization and implementation of new business models using Digital Technologies
  4. Conceptualization of Adoption Methodology, Change Management and Benefit Realization
  5. Effectively manage projects with in schedule & budget in coordination with implementation partners
  6. Facilitate Ideation, Collaboration and Knowledge Management to enhance business value
  7. Act as the main point of contact for the region, being the trusted advisor.
  8. Regional coordination and representation of any current or future global programs
  9. Work with the Global Centers of Excellence to maintain methodologies and practices
  10. Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted
  11. in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
  12. Partner with our managed services provider where required to ensure their employees are properly trained in order to support our business and the vendor support
  13. Initiate root cause analysis on recurrent and time-consuming issues
  14. Engage business units to deliver technology solutions that align with strategic company objectives.
  15. Prepare business cases and work with functional teams to feed the information back to IT-enabling corporate initiatives.
  16. Assist in the planning and execution of the assigned information technology strategy, and solution delivery projects for these departments within your geographic area.
  17. Identify business pain points and outline strategic opportunities that can be addressed by information systems and services
  18. Serve as an active listener for stakeholders and understand the change impact desired with the ability to play this back, validate concepts and develop conceptual and strategic proposals to support suggested system and implementation strategies
  19. Advise business partners on technical implications and solution options, manage complex IT portfolios, and support senior members of the team in achieving desired results through the delivery of technology solutions
  20. Monitor and ensure progress is being made, engage delivery teams and serve an integral part of driving processes and projects to completion
