We are looking for District Cooling - Civil Engineers who want to work in Qatar.
JOB PURPOSE:
To contribute to the development of DC projects and deliver various parts of the DC projects relating to the electrical engineering discipline, within the set parameters such as time, quality and cost to ensure customers' and contractors' satisfaction at all time.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
• Lead and supervise testing and commissioning of electrical works by contractors at various plants.
• Supervise the building services (MEP) (Lighting, small power, fire alarm firefighting systems, telecommunication systems, security systems, lightning protection systems, UPS, lifts, escalators, energy management systems, access control systems, diesel generator and earthing systems).
• Assist Engineering team for the review of voltage drop, short circuit, power factor, and harmonic distortion calculation where possible.
• Assist Engineering team for review of hop drawings and material submittal reviews of MV and LV systems of plants.
• Support the development of project scope of work and tender documentation in line with project objectives and requirements.
• Provide support to the concerned stakeholder in planning and executing project plans ensuring alignment to project scope of work.
• Supervise and monitor electrical contractors work on a regular basis, coordinate activities, and resolve issues to ensure projects are executed as per the work schedule and quality standards.
• Provide support during the tendering phase in evaluating bidders in line with technical requirements for the project.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 'A' Grade License Certificate as an Electrical Consulting Engineer from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, Qatar is desirable
• 'A' Grade License Certificate as an Electrical Consulting Engineer from Qatar General Electricity & Qatar Corporation (Kahra-maa) is desirable
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years of relevant work experience in utility plant construction and DC equipment
• Experience in the utilities industry or in a large-scale project management environment desirable
JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS (GENERIC / TECHNICAL):
• Proficiency in English
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of project management concepts and techniques
• Good knowledge of Kahramaa regulations desirable
• Good knowledge of QSAS systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
• Computer literacy
