Job description

CORROSION ENGINEER
• Setting, leading, and carrying internal corrosion monitoring survey programs to measure the fluid corrosivity. Based on data
collection and analysis, preparation of comprehensive reports including identification of causes of internal corrosion
unacceptable rates due to fluid corrosivity or insufficient internal corrosion control and provide the recommendations for
appropriate and effective remedial work for submission to the Company's Corrosion Engineers.
• Supervising all field activities including installation of internal corrosion monitoring equipment, fluid sampling and analysis,
maintenance, and installation of new internal corrosion monitoring stations.
• Assist in the design and installation of related internal corrosion control systems for new projects and modifications to existing
systems.
• Preparing 'List of Materials Required' during the Services and keeping a full record of materials supplied by either the
Company or the Contractor including the locations where the materials were consumed.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of corrosion control measures and related issues, through multi-disciplinary
teams, when necessary, as identified by both the Company and the Contractor.
• Liaise with Company staff daily with regards to progress of work, attend and contribute to Inspection & Corrosion Teams
coordination and other relevant meetings.
• Conduct laboratory and field-testing programs for chemical corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, biocides, oxygen scavenger
and provide recommendations for selecting the best chemicals based on techno-economic results.
• Make recommendations to the Company for necessary operational changes based on data analysis and test results.
Personnel Qualifications And Experience
CORROSION (ENGINEER/ TECHNOLOGIST)
• The Corrosion Engineer/Technologist shall possess a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Mechanical
/Metallurgical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering or physical science with accreditation through NACE-International and
certified as an Internal Corrosion Technologist or acceptable equivalent. A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in
internal corrosion activities and with at least two (2) years of experience in internal corrosion monitoring and control within
the oil and gas industry.
• Shall have practical experience and knowledge of the following internal corrosion control functions: Setting, leading and
carrying internal corrosion monitoring survey programs to measure the fluid corrosivity. Based on data collection and
analysis, preparation of comprehensive reports including identification of causes of internal corrosion unacceptable rates
due to fluid corrosivity or insufficient internal corrosion control and provide the recommendations for appropriate and
effective remedial work for submission to the Company's Corrosion Engineers.
• Understand and utilize the full range of intrusive and non-intrusive monitoring techniques related to the internal corrosion
monitoring systems to be used in crude, gas and water systems as well as downhole monitoring, including knowledge in
electrochemical techniques and the like, in order to advise in their proper application and useful lifetime.
• Supervising all field activities including installation of internal corrosion monitoring equipments, fluid sampling and analysis,
maintenance and installation of new internal corrosion monitoring stations.
• Assist in the design and installation of related internal corrosion control systems for new projects and modifications to
existing systems.
• Preparing 'List of Materials Required' during the course of the Services and keeping a full record of materials supplied by
either the Company or the Contractor including the locations where the materials were consumed.
• Able to contribute to the development and implementation of corrosion control measures and related issues, through
multi-disciplinary teams when necessary for both surface and sub-surface facilities, as identified by both the Company and
the Contractor.

• Liaise with Company staff on a daily basis with regards to progress of work, attend and contribute to Inspection &
Corrosion Teams coordination and other relevant meetings.
• Conduct laboratory and field testing programmes for chemical corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, biocides, oxygen
scavenger and provide recommendations for selecting the best chemicals based on techno-economic results.
• Make recommendations to the Company for necessary operational changes based on data analysis and test results.
• Understand and comply with Company's, national and international codes, regulations, reporting procedures, and
standard practices and ensure to carry out the service in compliance with Company HSE requirements.
• Responsible for tools/instruments calibrating to comply with ISO procedures.
• Computer literate, effluent English speaker, team player and having the skills to communicate to the Company's
personnel.
• Shall have a valid Kuwaiti Driver's License, if any.
