Position Summary The Manager, Solution Integration and Test role is responsible for driving the next generation of automated solution testing framework and automated testing suites for the Financial Services business unit. The Manager will provide strategy and direction in the practice of Solution Testing and Quality management.
This position reports to the Director of Solution Integration for Financial Services, and works with Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Platform Architecture and NCR Atleos' SRE team to ensure collaboration across all teams is facilitated.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of solution automation frameworks, automation testing, software development and quality management. A background in software development processes (preferably Scaled Agile - SAFe) both in theory and in practice. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of key processes and tools associated with Solution Automation, Software Development, Release Management and have experience in running teams larger than 15 and experience in managing financial aspects of a department.
Position Responsibilities - Looking across a suite of banking products and creating a full automated solution test with an emphasis on ensuring the customer experience is smooth and of high quality
- Creating and driving a test strategy, test plans, test results archiving, and then reporting clear status to leadership
- Ensure Solution Automation is embedded as part of the development of software products
- Accountable for defining, scoping and developing the solution test automation framework
- Ensuring test automation suite is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline
- Constantly evolving our solution testing strategy as new products and capabilities are added into the suite
- Accountable for all continuous improvement activities including driving QMM (quality maturity model), RCA (root cause analysis) and kaizen activities
- Accountable for creation and management of the Solution Integration test lab (physical and cloud) including the management of the budget for the labs
- Working with team members of varied experience and skill set across multiple time zones and locations
- Execute on Problem Management and associated metrics to ensure best value for NCR Atleos and our customers
- Enable communications to both technical and business/Exec facing audiences in the spirit of transparency.
- Partner with the Engineering, SRE and product development teams to agree and define solution integration execution, defect and release management
- Responsible for management of the Solution Integration Test team
- Working with team members of varied experience and skill set across multiple time zones and locations.
- Accountable for recruiting and hiring decisions as the team grows
This position works closely with NCR Atleos' Software Development teams within NCR Atleos Chief Technology Office that guide the overall Solution Integration and Test strategy and direction for NCR Atleos.
Basic Requirements - BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline
- 15+ years' experience in the quality domain, combination of product and solution integration testing
- Hands-on experience working with various test automation frameworks (e.g. KWDF, BDD & hybrid)
- Experience with some of the following test automation tools: Core Java, Robo, Selenium, JavaScript, Postman, QTP
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience in a wide variety of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, interface, component, resilience, HA, and security testing. Able to leverage knowledge of all these types of testing while building automation test plans
- Experience testing up and down an entire vertical from simple component/API testing, to product-level testing, system integration testing, and full end-to-end solution testing
- Experience with banking/financial software is strongly preferred
- Experience working with teams using Agile methodologies
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills
- Maintaining and staying abreast of current technologies and trends
- Demonstrated history of innovative thinking and delivery, including disruptive innovation
- Highly organized
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of and experience with cloud technologies including cloud native databases in both GCP and Azure
- Excellent communication, meeting facilitation and listening skills
- Strong negotiation, team working and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Confluence
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationality if needed (note: should be minimal travel for this position)
Preferred Requirements - Background working on highly-available, high-transaction volume, fault-tolerant systems
