Job Summary:

The Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, School of Technology, plays a pivotal role in providing leadership, vision, and strategic direction for academic programs within the School of Technology. This position involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance the overall academic experience, foster innovation in teaching and learning, and ensure the highest standards of academic quality.

Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs within the School of Technology.

Collaborate with faculty to design and enhance curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry trends and academic standards.

Oversee program reviews and accreditation processes, working closely with accreditation bodies.

Faculty Development:

Support the professional development of faculty members by facilitating workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

Promote a culture of research and scholarship among faculty and encourage their participation in conferences and publications.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diversity and innovation.

Student Engagement:

Collaborate with faculty to enhance student engagement initiatives, ensuring a positive and enriching academic experience.

Address student concerns and feedback, working towards continuous improvement in academic services.

Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support student success.

Curriculum Design and Assessment:

Lead efforts in curriculum development and revision, keeping programs aligned with industry needs and emerging technologies.

Implement and oversee assessment strategies to evaluate program effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

Advising and Student Support:

Collaborate with academic advisors to enhance student advising services.

Implement support mechanisms to address student academic challenges and promote student success.

Administrative Oversight:

Work closely with the Dean to manage academic budgets, allocate resources, and optimize the use of technology in academic programs.

Collaborate with other academic units and administrative offices to achieve institutional goals.

Committee Participation:

Serve on relevant committees and task forces within the School of Technology and at the institutional level.

Represent the School in academic leadership meetings and contribute to university-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

Terminal degree in a relevant field within the School of Technology.

Demonstrated leadership experience in academic administration.

Strong understanding of accreditation processes and academic quality assurance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic programs.

Experience with curriculum development and assessment.

Knowledge of emerging trends in technology education.
