1. Patient Consultation and Assessment:
- Conduct thorough patient consultations to understand medical histories, symptoms, and perform physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to aid in diagnosis.
2. Diagnosis and Treatment Planning:
- Diagnose musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and diseases.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans, which may include surgical and non-surgical interventions.
3. Surgical Interventions:
- Perform orthopedic surgeries, including joint replacements, arthroscopy, fracture repairs, and spinal surgeries.
- Stay updated on the latest surgical techniques and advancements in orthopedic surgery.
4. Preoperative and Postoperative Care:
- Evaluate patients before surgery to assess their fitness for the procedure.
- Provide preoperative counseling and education to patients and their families.
- Oversee postoperative care, including wound management, pain control, and rehabilitation.
5. Orthopedic Trauma Management:
- Manage orthopedic trauma cases, including fractures, dislocations, and other acute injuries.
- Collaborate with emergency medicine and trauma teams for timely and effective patient care.
6. Non-Surgical Interventions:
- Prescribe and oversee non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy, medications, and assistive devices.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures.
7. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, radiologists, anesthetists, and rehabilitation specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
8. Continuing Education and Research:
- Stay updated on the latest research, medical literature, and technological advancements in the field of orthopedic surgery.
- Contribute to academic and research activities to advance the knowledge and practices in orthopedics.
9. Teaching and Mentoring:
- Provide education and training to medical students, residents, and fellows.
