Job Title: Research Scientist
Job Description:
We are actively seeking an experienced and highly skilled Research Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics and
Computational Biology to join our innovative and dynamic team. With experience in the life sciences industry, the
ideal candidate will possess a strong background in scientific data mining, systemic literature review, and biological
contextualization. As a seasoned bioinformatician, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in in-silico drug
target assessment, target toxicity assessment, and multiomics data analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborative Research Projects:
• Lead and contribute to collaborative research projects within the Discovery Biology team.
• Develop and implement scientifically sound methodologies to achieve project goals.
2. Data Analysis and Integration:
• Analyse large-scale data output from the company's proprietary platform, ensuring alignment with project
objectives.
• Extract and analyse data from AlphaMeld, conducting quality control analyses.
3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
• Provide scientific and biological insights to Bioinformaticians and Medicinal Chemists for drug candidate
development.
• Review scientific literature data from the public domain, formulating testable hypotheses.
4. Assay Design and Execution:
• Design in vitro assays for potential drug targets, collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs)
for execution.
5. Project Reporting:
• Present project progress to clients and internal teams as needed.
• Write and prepare comprehensive research reports for conferences.
6. Product Development Pipeline:
• Lead a product development pipeline, providing domain knowledge, identifying, and finalizing data sources.
Create technical workflows for bioinformatics analysis.
• Write requirement documents, coordinate among different sub-teams, and oversee data visualization and
post-development validation.
7. Automated Report Generation:
• Take end-to-end responsibility for creating automated bioinformatics-driven target assessment reports.
8. Pharmacogenomic Reports:
• Generate pharmacogenomic reports for various disease areas to aid early discovery, target identification,
validation, and biomarker discovery. Technical Skills:
• Bioinformatics: Structural and sequence analysis, Immunogenicity assessment, Antibody humanization,
Epitope prediction, Homology modeling, Target identification and validation pipeline, Target safety
assessment, Competitive Landscape, clinical genomics, NGS Development framework.
• Product Management: Agile methodologies.
• Computer Skills: Perl, Basics of Python, SQL, PHPMyAdmin, Shell scripting.
• Expertise in: SDS-PAGE, western blotting, ELISA, cell culture techniques, and molecular biology techniques.Qualifications and Skills:
• Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology).
• 3-7 years of industry experience.
• Proficient in data extraction from scientific literature and biological databases.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
