Overview:

The Transmitter Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of transmitter equipment used in broadcasting telecommunications and other communication networks. They are responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of transmitter systems ensuring seamless transmission of signals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure transmitter equipment according to specifications
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on transmitter systems
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and signal interruptions
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all transmitter operations
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize transmitter performance
• Conduct tests to identify and resolve issues with RF systems
• Document maintenance and repair activities including equipment logs and reports
• Provide technical support during transmitter system upgrades and expansions
• Operate test equipment and tools for transmitter diagnostics and measurements
• Train and mentor junior technicians on transmitter operations and maintenance
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment for emergency repairs
• Respond to emergency calls and perform onsite repairs as needed
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in transmitter systems
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for equipment procurement and maintenance
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of transmitter sites and work areas

Required Qualifications:

Diploma in Electronics Engineering 57 years experience in O & M of AM Transmitters past experience in the climbing the medium wave antennas upto 100 meters and able to troubleshoot the wiring and replacement of bulbs and holders on the top of antenna.
