The Opportunity:

The Senior Business System Engineer- SAP Developer, SAP PI/PO and SAP CPI will act as senior developer for one of avantor’s application development and support teams. This includes work on design and development of system components (SAP PI/PO/CPI), implementation of technology standards, hands-on software development and support.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Pune office.

The team:

Pune (India) team partners with Avantor leadership teams in driving the Avantor Key Strategic Business Priorities. 

What we’re looking for:

• Education: A four-year college degree in applicable discipline is requried.  Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience:
• 8+ years’ experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP applications
• 5+ years’ experience with the following SAP ABAP/PI technical areas: SAP PI/PO and SAP CPI solution design and development, implement interfaces between SAP PI/CPI and Vendor/Customer systems using SAP PI/CPI mappings; User exits, BDC and Call-Transaction, Interfaces including ALE, IDOC, and BAPI; Module Pool (on-line dialog); SAP Script and Smart-Forms;Object Oriented ABAP, and Business Add-Ins; Report and dialog programming using Screen; ECC 6.0; and S/4
• Experience on FILE, JDBC, IDOC, SOAP, RFC, XI, Mail, SFTP and AS2 Adapters is highly desired. Good Knowledge in XML, XSLT, WSDL, XSD and should have worked on Standard Java Modules and custom modules.
• Experience in NetWeaver BPM by using Standard and Non-Standard Pattern.
• Extensive experience on Monitoring and Troubleshooting capabilities of SAP PO such as Message Monitoring, Component Monitoring, Performance Monitoring, End-to-End Monitoring in Runtime Workbench, Alert Monitoring using Alert Inbox.
• Experience on Integration Monitoring for Processed XML Messages (Main Payload, Error, Trace)
• Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement desirable
• SAP Certification and/or course work a plus

• Qualifications: 

• Thorough understanding of ABAP Workbench tools such as ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Editor, Area Menus, SAP Script, Function Builder, Transactions, and Business Object Builder.
  Understanding of data quality issues and ability to recommend best practices for ensuring/validating data quality
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms understandable to the business
• Experienced in Full life cycle implementation (SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI) covering requirement analysis, configuration, technical design and development, Test cases and transport and cutover activity.
• Good understanding of the integration points across SAP modules
• Understanding of software development life cycle. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Good communication skills are important, since this individual will document new methodologies/practices, present them to the team, and ensure their successful implementation.
• Strong technical analysis skills for creating optimal solutions for the business
• Effective written, oral communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking stressful environment, working independently and prioritizing work
• Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to develop working relationships
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of management as well as to employees in the business
• Must be highly motivated, have a great work ethic and enjoy working as part of a team
