About The Position As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Be part of Battery Energy Storage Enclosure System product design team.
- Will closely work with Product development team - design engineers from electrical and non-electrocal technology domain, Program managers, product manager, Requisition team and other stakeholders.
- Will be part of new product development and product stabilization activities.
- Lead BESS Enclosure Electrical System design- Power system architecture design, Electrical design calculation, Electrical protection coordination, Electrical equipement (Circuit breaker, UPS, Fuse, Disconnector etc.) selections.
- Perform cable selection and cable scheduling for Battery Energy storage system
- Perform Electrical Power System simulation in MATLAB, ETAP.
- Support in BESS plant electrical core design
- Work closely with control and I&C Engineer.
- Support in system level power quality (harmonics) analysis.
- Perform and Guide Electrical schematic development
- Support in developing component and system level qualifications test plan
- Work closely with procurement and 3rd party contract manufacturers.
- Support in technical documentations
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence - Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in the design of electric power systems
- 2+ years of experience in the design and/or construction of grid-tied BESS energy storage systems, large-scale renewable systems, large commercial PV systems.
- Experience in Electrical power system design including design calculations considering powerflow, short circuit requirements and standard compliance needs.
- Experience electrical component selection like- Circuit breaker, UPS, Fuse, Disconnector, SMPS, Sensors etc.
- Experience in cable selection, scheduling and cable harness etc.
- Experience performing power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination using ETAP, Matlab.
- Strong understanding of the NEC and relevant IEEE standards
- Strong understing of IEC, UL certification needed for BESS system
- Good understanding on protection system co-ordination design.
- Experience with a technical programming language such as Python or Matlab
- Experience of managing Bill of Materials.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience & ability to work In a high pressure environment
- Demonstrate effectiveness working with remote teams.
