As Strategy Associate you'll be responsible for the analytical work to drive business strategy creation for Europe for Colt under the framework set by the Board and Colt’s Executive Leadership team. You will be responsible for designing, developing and owning competitive strategies as well as the future threats and opportunities portfolio across solutions and verticals in Europe. The goal is to ‘assure’ Colt’s business plans and identify tangible and sustainable paths for growth. You will work closely with the Insights team to develop data-driven recommendations and work with the planning team to ensure all Colt’s functions have the guidelines to align their execution with our strategy and compete effectively. You will be responsible for both strategic and tactical leadership. You will work directly with the Director of Strategy&Planning and the leadership team translating the external market and Colt’s inherent strengths into actionable initiatives and plans that will contribute to the business planning process. Our strategy team is structured to create a strong platform for Strategy Associates to learn about the telecoms industry and the key megatrends that continue to shape it. The Strategy Associate will assume high levels of responsibility at early stages of their careers, and will get exposure to strategy development in cutting-edge segments in technology and telecoms. They will develop skill sets in financial analysis, business planning, financial projections, industry research, benchmarking analysis, and business strategy. Responsibilities:
- Creation of financial analyses (e.g. build business plans for strategic initiatives, market models, financial models, etc.) under the direct supervision of Strategy&Planning Director)
- Develop the business strategy narrative for Europe and work closely with all parts of the business to develop an aligned, cross-functional strategy that interlocks with the global strategy
- Gather intelligence that will improve competitive position and convert it into actionable business strategies
- Coordinate and oversee multiple cross-functional projects and strategies that have direct and meaningful impact on the business
- Help identify strategic opportunities across the organization, using external and internal insight to help influence strategic direction
- Support external narrative and engagements for Colt’s leadership team with Executive Programmes team
- Execution of other responsibilities and projects as assigned
Required skills: - Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis (build business plans for strategic initiatives, market models, financial models, etc.)
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to build collaboration, credibility and relationships quickly across functions and levels
- Attention to detail, able to multi-task and advance activities across concurrent workstreams, with the ability to work towards goals in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to turn ambiguous information and unstructured problems into insights, plans and recommendations
- Professional maturity and experience to interact with senior stakeholders
- Resourceful self-starter; ability to work autonomously
Requirements: - BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1-3 years of work experience in a Consulting, Corporate Strategy, IB, PE and/or related role
Preferred qualifications: - MBA, or advanced degree.
- Good knowledge of Telecoms and Digital transformation, including the Cloud
