ob Summary:
As a Barista, you are responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages to customers. Beyond preparing drinks, you contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized cafe environment.
Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-related equipment.
Customer Service:
Provide friendly and efficient customer service, welcoming patrons and taking orders with a positive attitude.
Offer recommendations and information about coffee blends, brewing methods, and additional menu items.
Cash Handling:
Handle cash transactions accurately and provide customers with receipts.
Process payments through various methods, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.
Menu Knowledge:
Have a thorough understanding of the cafe's menu, including coffee offerings, pastries, and other items.
Stay informed about new products and promotions.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Keep the cafe area clean and well-maintained, including coffee machines, counters, and seating areas.
Wash and sanitize utensils, cups, and equipment regularly.
Quality Control:
Ensure the consistency and quality of each beverage served.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages.
Customer Interaction:
Engage with customers in a positive and friendly manner.
Handle customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and seek resolutions.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other baristas and cafe staff to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with kitchen personnel and other team members.
Upselling and Promotion:
Suggest additional items, such as pastries or specialty drinks, to enhance the customer experience.
Participate in promotional activities to boost sales.
Adherence to Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness in accordance with established standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role.
Knowledge of different coffee blends, brewing methods, and latte art.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures.
Working Conditions:
The role involves standing for extended periods, working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and operating in a dynamic and social environment.
