Team Lead, Java works in the Engineering department managing the development plan of one or more scrum teams acting as Scrum Master. The Team Lead works with product management and senior management to plan projects and assures the assigned scrum teams will bring the projects to successful completion. As part of this role the Team Lead identifies and manages risk and makes sure there is clear communication across multiple teams and stakeholders. The roles and responsibilities would include:
The role will be a combination of 60% people management and 40% hands on technology expert.
Team Managemet The roles and responsibilities would include: - Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Java developers to achieve project goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Project Coordination - Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Implement and optimize SCRUM framework for efficient project management
- Utilize tools like JIRA and other project management tools to track and report progress.
Technical Expertise - Possess strong technical expertise in the Java technology stack.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to the development team.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices into the development process.
Process Improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline development processes.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance team productivity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows.
Communication - Regularly update and communicate with overseas managers on project status and milestones.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments.
- Address any issues or concerns in a timely and diplomatic manner.
Additional Skills (Preferred)- Familiarity with SCRUM tools and technologies.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within an agile environment.
- Certification in SCRUM or related project management
- Create, maintain and oversee the execution of the development plan
- Oversees the development projects assigned to one or more scrum teams (internal and external) and monitors their progress and completion. Coordinates with cross-functional teams to make sure that all development teams are on track with project requirements, quality, and schedules.
- Identify and remove impediments through cross team communication and collaboration.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that might impact the development team's performance, morale and product quality
- Manage reporting for the projects and products within the area of Complete Customer Management's responsibility
- Sprint creation, Sprint Planning, Scrum meetings, meeting with Project Managers, are some of the Other duties to streamline the processes as assigned
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science.
- Min 6 years in software development with a preference to coding or QA activities. Strong preference for experience with working with agile development concepts. People management skills, preferable in an international environment.
- Competent with all MS Office products, Confluence, JIRA. Coding experience is preferred.
- Management skills with experience in managing software product development projects. Good organizational, decision making and communication skills. Fluency in English.
