Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

. Corporate Bank (CB) has one Important Business Service: 'Make a Payment - electronic'. The Impact Tolerance threshold for Intolerable Harm is defined at 24hrs, inferring that, in the event that Barclays lost the ability to process payments through its regular BAU (technology) environment, the firm can quickly switch core payment processing of critical payments & to vulnerable clients to an alternative solution/provider
. A combination of technology, operations and third party solutions may be used to meet the regulatory commitment, however the complexity & demands of the 'Make a Payment' IBS will place heavy reliance on a Technology solution
. Your role will take primary responsibility for working with the Corporate Resilience Programme team and stakeholders across Business/Product, Technology and Operations to identify, scope, quantify, plan and control all activity associated with the Accelerated Technology Recovery programme
. You will work in partnership with Business/Product to refine the 'Intolerable Harm' user cases/requirements
. You will be required to create cost/benefit analysis to support key decisioning where multiple options exist, and you will be expected to target and lead these discussions/presentations with appropriate, often senior stakeholders across the Bank
. Actively contribute and champion the development of the change delivery process.
. Work collaboratively with other Project Managers and stakeholders across Corporate Bank and BUK to deliver programme outcomes and deliverables.


What will you be doing

. To manage Execution Risk effectively, deliver on our Group strategy and satisfy all our stakeholders, we must deliver our initiatives consistently and transparently. Project Managers apply the right processes, tools, methods and skills to manage the delivery of a project from business case through to closure.

. Apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to manage risk and ensure project outcomes are delivered in line with expectations.
. Taking responsibility for successful delivery in line with the relevant Policies and Standards by keeping a focus on outcomes defining, monitoring and regularly reviewing the overall plan ensuring benefits and outcomes are captured and validated throughout the project
. Being responsible for governance and oversight - provide the framework for implementation, working with the AE and Programme Director/PMO (where relevant) to establish/support a governance forum that is fit for purpose and facilitate the continuous review and approval of key delivery documents
. Providing and regularly reviewing an honest, transparent assessment of the project status and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies) of the initiative, escalating via appropriate governance
. Acting in partnership with the AE and Programme Director/PMO (where relevant), using their experience and insight to help engage senior leaders, maintain a focus on delivering outcomes, remove blockers and resolve risks and issues and deploy appropriate governance and oversight of delivery (including the Project and/or Programme Forum)
. Determining, monitoring and managing to workforce and financial requirements, liaising with product and service delivery on resource requirements supplier and vendor management ensuring ongoing costs and capitalisation meet MTP and budget requirements
. Work with stakeholders across impacted businesses to lead the delivery of business readiness activities
. Creating an environment of effective delivery by empowering the delivery team, leveraging their knowledge and expertise, learning lessons from past delivery, and by allocating work across the team in a way that makes the most of their skills while maintaining a focus on outcomes.
. Run/attend weekly working group and weekly delivery against plan meetings

. Maintain detailed build plan, managing updates and delivery forum management

. Create/maintain interlock status updates and manage stakeholders
. Facilitate meetings/conversations between applications teams, GTIS (Infrastructure team) , EaaS (Environment as a Service team) and CTO (Chief Technology Office).

. Minimum educational qualification-Graduate.

. Consistent record/experience of successfully delivering large scale projects
. Ability to master and navigate new subject domains quickly
. Good working knowledge of business continuity and operational resilience planning
. Exceptional analytical skills
. Experience of working with business stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
. Strong communication skills across all levels
. Confirmed ability and integrtity around influencing and managing senior delivery partners
. Relevant PM qualifications, e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Lean/Agile
. Industry standard PM qualification, nice to have but not essential
. Knowledge of Corporate channels
. Practicing level of Barclays Payments operational landscape and expert ability to drive commercial success and innovate for the future.
