Job Title: Associate Director of Learning Platforms

Job Overview: The Associate Director, Learning Platforms, will spearhead initiatives within Digital Learning at ISB to revolutionize the educational landscape by harnessing cutting-edge technologies. This role is central to delivering an innovative and impactful learning experience to a diverse range of learners across various programs. Utilizing a deep understanding of computing and educational technologies, the Associate Director will lead multifaceted projects from conception to implementation, ensuring the seamless integration and operation of digital learning platforms.

In an era where digital transformation is paramount, Digital Learning is at the forefront, particularly in integrating advancements in artificial intelligence to enrich learning outcomes. This journey encompasses numerous initiatives in digital and process innovation, utilizing AI to customize learning experiences and enhance instructional efficacy. As Associate Director, Learning Platforms, the incumbent will be instrumental in establishing a pioneering center of excellence, guiding technical program management across different departments. The role involves implementing AI-powered tools and methodologies to refine educational processes and outcomes. The Associate Director will ensure the strategic and effective application of AI and other emerging technologies, aligning with Digital Learning's commitment to educational excellence and innovation. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, management of platform development partners, and a keen eye for data-driven decision-making to continuously elevate the learning platform’s capabilities and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership and Innovation: Lead the initiative to continuously scan and integrate emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance the learning experience on the platform. Develop and maintain the learning platform's technology roadmap in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough research to evaluate the feasibility and impact of new technological interventions in the learning platform space. Platform Development and Management: Drive the development of the learning experience platform, ensuring the integration of new capabilities to support diverse learning journeys. Collaborate closely with the product development, content development, and program management teams to innovate and enhance platform functionalities. Financial Management: Cover effort estimates, budgeting, and tracking expenses.

Vendor Management: Manage partnerships with platform development vendors and partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality platform features and services. Define scope, contract management, SLAs, and performance management. Project and Process Management: Design and implement project plans for platform development, working effectively with IT delivery partners. Utilize appropriate frameworks and methodologies for efficient project management and control, ensuring effective collaboration with delivery partners and stakeholders. Lead and facilitate project management ceremonies, such as Scrum meetings, to resolve issues and track progress using agile metrics. Quality Assurance and Governance: Establish and oversee governance procedures to assure the quality standards of the learning platform. Conduct regular quality reviews and manage a schedule of governance gateways to ensure continuous improvement. Process Optimization and Reporting: Perform root cause analysis to identify and address gaps in current systems and processes, enhancing overall platform performance. Implement digital solutions to automate processes and improve operational efficiency. Develop and manage program reporting, providing visibility to senior management on the status and performance of platform initiatives. Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring clear communication and resolution strategies with stakeholders. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities for automation and process improvement across the platform. Apply methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to innovate and elevate the platform’s capabilities and user experience.

Qualifications: Proven experience in digital platform development, educational technology, or a related field. Strong technical acumen, preferably with experience in online learning platforms. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment. Passion for educational innovation and technology-enhanced learning.
