Job Role: Android Framework Developer (AOSP) Location: Thane (work from office) Who are we looking for: A person who has developed and deployed a consumer operating system based on Android Open-Source Project (AOSP). A person with deep knowledge of Android Framework Layer. A person who has a knack for benchmarking and optimization. Top 3 Daily Tasks: You will be working on the low-level framework architecture of AOSP and Google android platform in general including developing and modifying system-level applications like Launcher and Settings. You will be working on building the whole android source code, adding, or/and removing components, and flashing that build to the target system. You will be working as an individual contributor as well as helping the framework team in the debugging wherever necessary for optimized solutions. Minimum work experience is required: BS/BTech or MS/MTech or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related degree with 5+ years of experience in leading, designing, deploying, and/or on-boarding AOSP based platform solutions. Top 5 Skills you should possess: Expertise in Android platform tools and AOSP – Android O, P, Q. Should understand the build system in android. Kati, Ninja, Soong, etc. Experience with Android SDK, Android JNI, C language and Java. Experience on framework components such as Window Manager, Activity Manager (AMS), Package Manager, SurfaceFlinger, AudioFlinger Ability to work in a low supervision but high ownership environment Should have proven knowledge of using Agile software delivery process and Task Management platforms and Git. Experience of kernel development and the device driver is a plus. What would you be expected to do: Customization of AOSP for targeted devices. Work on Android framework components like Activity Manager, Window Manager, Multimedia Framework, etc. Work on system architecture with an emphasis on API design and code reusability. Work with OS Components like Java framework API's, HAL, Android NDK, System apps, etc. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the OS. Bring ideas to deliver world-class experiences in our custom OS. Help teammates when they face challenges. Help maintain code quality, readability, and documentation.Job tags
