About the role

Luminar Technologies is looking for a Sr. Staff PCB Designer Engineer, to be a part of a talented team of board design engineers working on exciting new opportunities in the autonomous mobility and ADAS markets. This is a first set of lead hires for this function, as we look to augment this function in Luminar Technologies, India. You will be part of high cross functional team and responsible for rapid prototyping and product development at Luminar.

Role Requirements

8 to 12 years of experience in PCB design, preferably in Automotive industry. Highly experienced with Siemens Xpedition and Altium Designer as a PCB layout designer. Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition library manager with EDM Environment and VALOR is an added advantage. Responsible for PCB design layout and documentation control. Develops PCB layout solutions for automotive lifestyle hardware products that incorporate features such as world-class cutting-edge automotive network interfaces. Create engineering documentation that allows manufacturing of PCBAs, including schematics, bills of materials, assembly drawings. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of at least hardware and mechanical engineers. Capabilities required include knowledge of modern PCB production technologies and methods, knowledge of IPC standards. Must have good experience with Flex and rigid-flex PCB design. Manage existing part creation processes, implement new processes to improve symbol creation/approval/release. Create, manage and maintain the E-CAD libraries (schematic symbols, PCB footprints, ) using DxDatabook and Access database for use by the entire engineering team. PCB footprint and schematic symbol creation and verification for the engineering department.

Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or higher Design experience in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1) Technical knowledge of automotive qualification testing including Environmental, and EMI/EMC verification procedures Knowledge of IATF16949 Automotive Quality Management standards Design For Six Sigma, DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, or Shanin Red X certified Experience with problem solving processes used in automotive (e.g. 7-step, 8D, 5-why) Experience with integration and/or automation of CAD tools Experience with Siemens Xpedition and Altium Designer
