Primary Purpose

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Linux server environment. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (FISMA, SOC-2, ISO27001, FedRAMP). The ideal candidate will have expertise in CentOS, VMware, AWS, and Azure, with a focus on managing and patching vulnerabilities

Responsibilities

  • Linux Server Administration:
  • Administer and maintain CentOS-based Linux servers in a virtualized environment.
  • Configure, monitor, and optimize server performance.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring:
  • Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure the availability and performance of Linux systems.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to proactively identify and address issues.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure Linux server environments comply with security standards (FISMA, SOC-2, ISO27001, FedRAMP).
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and enhance security measures.
  • Patch Management:
  • Develop and execute patch management strategies for Linux servers.
  • Manage vulnerabilities and coordinate patching efforts in accordance with best practices.
  • Virtualization:
  • Administer VMware virtualization infrastructure.
  • Manage virtual machines, snapshots, and resource allocation.
  • Cloud Services:
  • Collaborate with cloud service providers, particularly AWS and Azure, to optimize Linux server deployments.
  • Implement and manage cloud-based solutions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
  • Proven experience with CentOS, VMware, AWS, and Azure.
  • Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Linux server administration, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS and Azure.
  • Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as FISMA, SOC-2, ISO27001, and FedRAMP.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
