Insights Analyst

Short Description

• Develop data analytics solutions for providing strategic business insights for Colt.
• Analyze business data to derive key insights that contribute to the long-term business planning and growth of the organization.

Job Summary

The Business Insights Analyst has experience delivering end to end data and insights solutions and has a strong background in working with data teams. The insights analyst conducts in-depth data analysis and supports generation of key performance indicators / metrics for tracking purposes, and supports data-driven decision-making.

The insights analyst has a strong story-telling ability through insightful presentations and impactfully engage with both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels. They will work directly with the Senior Insights Consultant and the leadership team translating the data into actionable business insights.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, they play a crucial role in generating valuable reports, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement. This ultimately enriches the business insights and supports the objective of data-driven decision-making at every level in the business.

Job Description

Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop the insights solutions and coordinate delivery of analytics/solutions relating to the use cases, working closely with Colt's data / insights teams and various stakeholders, including senior executives, marketing teams, product managers, and sales teams.
• Creating visually compelling reports, charts, and presentations to communicate insights effectively.
• Identify, and develop business insights use-cases and hypotheses for improvement opportunities
• Quantify the benefits and value added to Colt through the insights solutions and enabling data driven decision making.

Additional responsibilities may include;

• Collecting relevant data from various sources, such as market research, surveys, customer feedback, and internal data sources.
• Utilizing data analysis techniques and tools to extract insights, identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.
• Generating KPIs/metrics for tracking and ensuring consistency of approach by collaborating with cross functional teams.
• Utilizing data analysis techniques and tools to test hypothesis and quantify impact of business problems across various functions
• Ensure data-driven quantification at all levels to support strategic planning.

Relationships and key contacts

Cross-functional collaboration and interaction with various internal and external stakeholders, such as: Leadership teams,Marketing, Product Managers, Sales, Data & Analytics teams, external partners and vendors, customers and end-users, regulatory and compliance teams, market research firms, IT department.

Education

• A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as business, analytics, computer science or related discipline.

Skills And Experience

• 5+ years of work experience in data analytics or insights solutions based roles
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, SQL, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or similar software.
• Strong database querying and data manipulation skills - Ability to link disparate datasets and answer core insights questions
• Experience in data design and ability to develop bespoke analytics solutions
• Ability to turn ambiguous information and unstructured problems into insights, plans and recommendations.
• Track record of delivering data solutions in the specialist areas covering data modelling, design, data engineering, visualisation, data science and insights
• Experience with machine learning tools (Python, R etc,) and predictive analytics will be beneficial
• Knowledge of Google Cloud data manipulation (preferred) or other cloud analytics tools (Snowflake, Databricks etc.) will be beneficial
• Telecommunications (or utilities) and/or strategy consultancy experience will be beneficial
• Good communication and presentation
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams is crucial.
