Job Summary: The Hospital Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members. They are the first point of contact for individuals entering the hospital and play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming environment. The receptionist manages incoming calls, schedules appointments, registers patients, and assists with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Schedule appointments for patients and assist with appointment reminders.
- Register patients by collecting necessary information, verifying insurance coverage, and updating patient records.
- Direct patients to appropriate waiting areas and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Coordinate with other hospital departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
- Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and requests with empathy and professionalism.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other hospital personnel to address patient needs effectively.
- Keep abreast of hospital services, departments, and physicians to provide accurate information to patients and visitors.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the administrative team.
