Job description

Job Summary: The Hospital Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members. They are the first point of contact for individuals entering the hospital and play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming environment. The receptionist manages incoming calls, schedules appointments, registers patients, and assists with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the hospital.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to appropriate departments or individuals.
  3. Schedule appointments for patients and assist with appointment reminders.
  4. Register patients by collecting necessary information, verifying insurance coverage, and updating patient records.
  5. Direct patients to appropriate waiting areas and provide assistance as needed.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  7. Coordinate with other hospital departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
  8. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
  9. Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and requests with empathy and professionalism.
  10. Follow hospital policies and procedures regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
  11. Collaborate with medical staff and other hospital personnel to address patient needs effectively.
  12. Keep abreast of hospital services, departments, and physicians to provide accurate information to patients and visitors.
  13. Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the administrative team.
