Position Summary...
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. This position is for the
Sam's Data Governance (DG) Team. At Walmart in Bangalore, you will work with small teams of talented engineers to build robust, distributed and scalable applications. Be given the freedom to try new things and prove the value of your own ideas and innovations and own them all the way to production. Foster a motivating culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure business needs are being met using software engineering best practices. Participate in internal Hackathons and Innovation challenges!
- Develop interactive, user-friendly applications using the latest frameworks which are open source and proprietary.
- Contribute to design and code review tasks.
- Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide.
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
- Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
Required Experience/Skills:
Mandatory - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 to 6 years of total experience in developing Enterprise scale applications.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: Data Structure, Algorithms and Design Patterns.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: Strong coding skills to build and implement user interfaces using front-end technologies.
- UI frameworks and libraries: Experience with popular UI frameworks and libraries such as React, Node, next to develop interactive and responsive user interfaces.
- Css Preprocessing: Knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS can be beneficial for managing stylesheets efficiently and maintaining code scalability.
- UI design tools: Familiarity with design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch to collaborate with designers and implement UI designs.
- Version control: Understanding of version control systems like Git to manage codebase and collaborate with a development team.
- Cross-browser compatibility: Knowledge of browser compatibility issues and techniques to ensure consistent UI experiences across different browsers.
- Performance optimization: Ability to optimize UI performance through techniques like code minification, image optimization, and lazy loading of resources.
- Testing and debugging: Proficiency in testing and debugging UI code to identify and fix issues, ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Responsive design: Experience in creating responsive user interfaces that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.
- Accessibility: Understanding of accessibility principles and guidelines to ensure the UI is usable for all users, including those with disabilities.
- Backend Basics: Basic understanding of backend technologies and APIs to collaborate effectively with backend developers.
- Continuous Integration: Integrate your code changes frequently into a shared repository. This ensures that conflicts are identified and resolved early. Automated builds and tests are triggered upon integration to catch any issues.
- Continuous Deployment: Automate the deployment process to push code changes to production or staging environments. Use deployment tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless architectures to simplify deployment and improve scalability.
- Continuous learning: Keeping up with the latest UI development trends, tools, and best practices to deliver high-quality and innovative user interfaces for Walmart.
