Job description
Educational & Professional Qualification-
- Four-year Degree in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent.
- Min 3 or more years of experience in the Hardware/Embedded Design Engineer in Product based Or electronics manufacturing industry.
General Description-
- To Design & develop Embedded section of Product or Test system.
- Helps engineering in implementing new & modified Systems.
- Understands Manufacturing process flow & Test Strategy from end to end and demonstrates proficiency.
- Hardware, Software and Documentation package description
- Knowledge of DFMEA & Risk Management.
Job Responsibilities-
- Develop firmware for the programmable parts if required .
- Get prototype qualified from Internal /external customer.
- Generate schematics of all required PCBAs & get the PCB layout done from External Vendor.
- Assemble & Test first Prototype Design
- Co-ordinate & interact with other teams like mechanical & software to complete the system Design.
- Assist & train Engineering team in initial phase of implementation.
- Typically receives project-level direction from the project leader, but may lead low to medium complexity projects.
- Coaches/Mentors junior engineers and technicians on a technical level.
- The tasks comprising a test solution development may include, but are not limited to, Design For Test (DFT), design, assembly, debug, validation, deployment, and emergency support of electrical hardware, mechanical hardware, optical hardware and software.
Tools & Techniques required-
- Expertise in Embedded System design using RPi, Arduino.
- Expertise in Digital System Design using Microprocessors / Microcontrollers, ADC/DACs, Memories, Latches etc.
- Expertise in Analog System design using discrete components like transistors, MOSFETs.
- Expertise in using various interfaces & protocols like RS232, GPIB, I2C,
- Expertise in using various lab equipment like Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, Simulators, Spectrum Analyzers etc.
- Expertise in using Altuim for Schematic Drawing & Gerber verification.
- Electrical hardware typically includes, but is not limited to:
o GPIB, USB and RS-232 controlled equipment
o PCI based test equipment
o Design of custom circuitry implemented in custom circuit boards and cables
- FPGA/Microcontroller firmware Design, Passive Active filtering, High speed circuitry, RF
- Software and compilers typically include but is not limited to:
o Microchip IDE, Arduino, RPi, Linux, Embedded C, Open CV.
o Custom scripting languages.
- The process of developing test solutions includes, but is not limited to:
o Development (OrCAD, Altium and other software development tools listed above)
o Project tracking (action items, journals, time entry, milestones, and deliverables checklists)
o Test solution design guidelines (global fixture specification, schematic design requirements)
o Design reviews (Initial and post-installation) - Board-level functional test
- System test
- Documentation package templates (test specification, BOM s, tester validation, etc )
