Senior Engineer - Win Work (Bid / Proposal Management)

Job description
- We are looking for an experienced candidate, responsible for managing different phases of the company's proposal process and oversee all required activities to develop RFP-compliant, competitive, and quality marketing materials, proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations.
- You will be working closely with regional win work/technical leads and business development & the engagement team across Atkins/SNCL and the wider organisation to produce compelling bids.
Main skillsets required for the role are:
- Lead the development and application of proposal/bid themes. Develop organization chart with the pursuit team.
- Coordinate, communication between SMEs and proposal writers. Lead teams through strategic reviews as per internal schedule.
- Exhibit strategic mindset to align proposal efforts with the organization's business goals and objectives.
- They should be able to analyze customer requirements, market trends, and competitive landscapes to develop winning proposal strategies.
- Would manage Win Work Leads / Proposal Managers and manage the proposal deliveries. Should be able to create and manage proposal schedules, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, track progress, and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Should be skilled in leading and motivating cross-functional teams involved in the proposal process.
- They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and ensure effective teamwork.
- Understanding of Architectural-Engineering and project management industry standards and disciplines.
- Can translate abstract ideas or narrative text into graphical concepts to illustrate concepts more effectively. Works independently yet functions effectively as a member of a team.
- Working with Technical Leads / Bid Managers / Bid Directors and their teams to drive the Win Work processes and corporate governance, through a pursuit to ensure a winning bid and putting up winning proposals with the highest attention to detail for a variety of engineering, infrastructure, architectural design & Project Management projects
- Provide Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality and Teamwork. (Note that 'Clients' may be internal managers and staff.)
- Should be familiar with document collaboration platforms, content management systems, version control tools, and other relevant technologies that streamline the proposal development process
Proposal Preparation
- Portal Management (CRM tools) and Review procurement documents and attachments.
- Create and maintain a Bid/ Proposal Management Plan.
- Develop compliance matrix, Storyboard templates and allocate bid deliverables.
- Graphics co-ordination, (color schemes; word templates; document covers and dividers; images / photos; graphics / charts / graphs (where applicable) and Graphics approval, activity led by Bid Coordinator.
- Work involves knowledgeable application of quality control as well as standard procedures and criteria to the coordination of proposals which are of critical importance to the firm.
- Assist in the development of preparation for Stage-gate reviews - and facilitate bid go/no-go decision.
- Planning, organizing and scheduling activities necessary to comply with the Service Delivery Process, including the attendance of appropriately authorized Approvers. (In accordance with the Group Approval Matrix) and ensuring all necessary information and documentation is available to successfully undertake Service Delivery Process Stage Gate Reviews and Technical Governance, gaining the requisite approvals
- Work with the Business Development & Engagement team to schedule & Co-ordinate communications activities necessary to identify customer issues, hot buttons and the associated win themes and win strategy statements. Occasionally contact upper management for required signatures.
- Support the production of case studies / evidence scenarios.
Submission
- Final quality review of documents, post-formatting and after Bid Coordinator proof-read / sense check
- Final proof-read / compliance check of tender documents
- Prioritize tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and manage dependencies effectively

- Analytical with solid organizational skills, scheduling and prioritizing activities
- A flexible but methodical approach to supporting bids
- Computer skills required and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM, and other software programs.
- Comfortable and effective when working across all levels of an organization.
- Makes sound decisions, but also works with other stakeholders (eg, sales lead, capture lead, PM) to gain buy-in.
