Job description

The Manager of Infrastructure & Engineering will own the capabilities around engineering across the Infrastructure and Operation organization. The role is responsible for establishing and executing the strategy, defining platforms / capabilities, building and leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of senior level stakeholders. This role will lead teams that will help with maturing various business and technical capabilities across the TJX landscape from the India Office.

What you will do ?

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

• Develop and execute strategic plans for integrating I&O functions into the India office framework.
• Collaborate with leadership to align I&O operations with overall organizational goals.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Work across different I&O towers to identify opportunities to leverage the India office based on talent availability and operational efficiency.
• Facilitate interdepartmental communication and cooperation to ensure seamless integration of services.

Talent and Resource Analysis:

• Assess talent availability in India and identify I&O functions suitable for India office setup.
• Provide insights and recommendations on resource allocation and talent acquisition to optimize operations.

Supporting Leadership:

• Assist the India office VP in onboarding various functions beyond I&O
• In conjunction with the India IT Office VP, continue to build future opportunities to expand the I&O footprint.
• Serve as a key advisor for strategic decisions related to Infrastructure and Operations

Process Optimization and Efficiency Improvement:

• Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity within I&O operations.
• Continuously evaluate operational processes for potential improvements and innovations

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides Strategic Leadership to ensure IT group priorities are met, in alignment with specified Business Priorities
• Ensures delivery against technology road map through proper resource management (budget, workforce management)
• Leverages effective workforce and Talent strategies to ensure effective hiring, engagement and retention of Associates.

Experience:

• Demonstrates ability to deliver initiatives (on time/ on budget)
• Global work experience (expat assignment, rollout of Global Initiative, leading a Team that sits in multiple countries, having Global Business Partners)

Additional:

• Partners with various leaders within IT as needed to forge key agreements around solution approaches / designs and operating principles.
• Experience with a matrixed management organization.
• Reviews and approves requests for variances from standards.
• Acts as first point of contact for strategic requests from a technology perspective, and an escalation point for issues not resolved at a lower level in relation to the delivery of technical components.
• Serves as a liaison with other IT partners for technical matters relating to their owned products (inc. security related aspects)
• Champions IT-driven initiatives amongst IT leadership to enable alignment to a technical roadmap or strategy.
• Key point of escalation for team to remove blockers.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Responsible to build out a strong functioning team with product and engineering excellence to deliver on long term business capabilities.

Skills / Knowledge:

• Infrastructure and Operations experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the solution delivery lifecycle including project management, business requirements, application development, testing, technologies/platforms, agile development methodologies, use of product team structures, and/or other applicable methodologies
• Strong champion of DevSecOps and Engineering practices
• Proven success in meeting business objectives/project goals and delivering technology - well organized individual able to hold people accountable for results.
• Experience in building out a strong functioning team with product and engineering excellence to deliver on short term & long-term business capabilities.
• Experience with SaaS solutions, cloud technologies & public cloud platform is strongly desired.
• An enabler of DevOps mindset/approach for modernized and legacy systems to co-exist.
• Executive presence and excellent presentation skills a must
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at crafting a compelling, clear and objective case.
• Span of Control (i.e. Direct/Indirect reports)
• Leads team of 2 - 8 direct reports and 20-45 indirect staff (consisting of TJX Associates and contract staff; may include professional services teams) across multiple disciplines and geographies in the delivery of technical solutions over a wide variety of platforms.

Minimum Experience:

• Typically has 15 years prior experience in systems, business management or related field with at least 5 years leadership experience in technology and systems including HR responsibilities.
• Experience managing a global function in a complex, multi-national corporate setting with geographically dispersed teams.
• SAFe certification preferred. Experience with resource planning and management across multiple projects.

Minimum Formal Education:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; masters degree in related discipline a plus.
