About the role :-
We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our team and help us build the next generation of products. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of designing and developing complex systems, as well as a deep understanding of B2C functioning. They should also be able to empathize well with users and create user-centered designs. Additionally, the candidate should excel at interaction design.
This is a mix of IC and People Manager role, so the candidate will be responsible for both designing and building products, as well as managing a team of young product designers. People Management and mentoring would be key responsibilities of this individual. The person will also be involved in team management and structuring. The candidate will be responsible for coaching and mentoring their team members to help them grow.

Key Responsibilities :-
- You will collaborate with other designers, research, product, and engineering teams to define and develop relevant, intuitive, and attractive experiences for our consumers.
- You will envision and create creative concepts that simplify and make difficult design concerns easier to utilise. You are both a conceptual thinker and a craftsperson. Your design work is clean, focused, and a source of inspiration for others.
- You will also work in an agile atmosphere with a motivated and enthusiastic interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality experiences.
- You'll collaborate regularly using strong communication, documentation and facilitation skills. You'll work closely with PMs, Engineers, Data scientists, User researchers and writers to make sure your team isn't just shipping great designs, but they are deeply involved throughout the design process.
- You'll execute (and advocate for) polished, intuitive and accessible user experiences. You're pragmatic and able to balance the ideal experience with knowing where and when to make scoping trade-offs based on technical constraints, experimentation strategy or business risk.
- You'll help raise the bar for design at Amber. We're a team where every designer plays a critical role in improving our community of practice—whether that's through improving our craft skills to leading rituals to giving great feedback.
- You'll regularly work with our Director of Product and the product team in general. This is to help make sure long-term strategy, business goals and experience quality are all in alignment and that there are healthy opportunities for visibility and feedback.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user flows, process flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs
- Conduct user research and testing to validate design concepts and gather insights to inform design decisions
- Create and maintain design systems, including design guidelines, style guides, and pattern libraries
- Stay up-to-date with current design trends and technologies, and bring new and innovative design solutions to the team
Hard Skills :-
- Portfolio demonstrating your ability to translate research results into exceptional product experiences by combining good visual and interaction design concepts. A good portfolio is essential for this post, both in terms of proving your expertise and as an example of your ability to build a compelling design presentation that demonstrates problem-solving, creative thinking, and the delivery of solid end-to-end scenarios.
- 5-6 years of product delivery experience in a product/software context Passion for design and excellent command of interface and visual design abilities
- 2-3 years of team handling and team management experience. Should know how to lead than manage
- Should have experience in building System Design and excel in Interaction Design etc.
- Undergraduate Degree in HCI related disciplines such as UI Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, Industrial Design, Product Design is preferred.
- You must be able to communicate and cooperate across disciplines, as well as convey your design ideas with a high degree of influence and effect throughout the team.
- Basic Knowledge of programming languages such as HTML/HTML5, CSS, Javascript and or Python is an added bonus
- Expertise with Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and related tools. Should also be use to prototyping tools such as InVision, Balsamiq, Flinto, Framer, Processing, Unity, etc.
- Must be well-versed in user-centred design methods and techniques.
Soft Skills :-
- High Ownership (taking complete responsibility for the growth via the respective channels)
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced start-up environment, and get-things-done
- Creative outlook and an eye for detail
- Super Iterative (being able to do 1000s of experiments, and figure out what works best)
- Excellent analytical skills
- The right mix of data-driven and intuition-based approaches.
- User Empathy (knows the pulse of the user)
