Job Title: Senior Procurement Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)

Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services for our projects. The Senior Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to support the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure the availability of high-quality materials and services while optimizing costs.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.

2. Supplier Management:

- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, seeking favorable terms and conditions for the organization.

3. Cost Optimization:
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
- Implement cost-effective procurement strategies and monitor budget compliance.

4. Procurement Process Enhancement:
- Streamline and optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Implement best practices in procurement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence in procurement activities.

6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, project management, and finance teams, to align procurement activities with project timelines and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey expectations, specifications, and any changes in requirements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, preferably in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive cost savings initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.

Experience:
