Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction:
This is a technical project leadership role. A successful candidate will have prior exposure to Project Management best practices, ideally in a technical, data science or quantitative risk environment.
The candidate should be capable of:
• Review and challenge business decision tools / process to ascertain whether qualifies to be a model or a QEA (qualitative estimation approaches)
• Comprehend various regulatory guidance / documents (SS3/18, CP6/22, SR11-7, etc.) on expectations around MRM governance around such approaches
• Building strong working relationships across MRM and outside MRM function and influence key decisions.
Main duties include:
• Enhance policy / standards in line with regulatory requirements around qualitative approaches.
• Collaborate with IVU and Model Governance teams to develop framework on an ongoing basis.
• Oversee first line governance around review and challenge process, as required by the QEA standards.
• Share findings from conformance testing with wider audience and agree actionable remediation plan with first line stake holders
What will you be doing?
• Keep up to date with regulatory expectations
• Maintain a log of all established QEA used across the bank
• Define sampling strategies for conformance reviews and testing
• Independently review first line governance process around use of judgement driven approaches
What we’re looking for:
• Experience in Risk or other parts of Investment Banks: ability to understand Risk and/or banking products and explain them at a high level.
• Communication - Strong communication skills. Can produce concise, organized and thoughtful presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
