Job Title: Sustainability Engineer – Product Design
Location: C oimbatore or Bangalore, India
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Working with ECR (Engineering Change Request) and Evaluation, Implementation of ECO (Engineering Change Order)
- Finding of alternative parts having the same Form Fit Function for EOL, obsolete and discontinued parts.
- Understanding and identification of VAVE requirements and Scoping the project for Operation cost in line with VAVE processes
- Experience in Function/cost analysis, Concept generation/Finalization, Cost analysis, Manufacturing drawings & BOM, prototype & testing, Verification
- Provide expertise in the design tradeoffs through prototype, build, and test cycles.
- Work on projects with notable complexity & risk; Participate in developing top-level design strategy for product developments under the guidance of Lead engineer or manager.
- Work with multi physics modeling team to analyze performance and design tradeoffs.
- Resolve design problems associated with product performance in engineering, manufacturing and in the field.
- Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues, to address customers' High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products.
- Communicate among diverse teams (process engineers, technicians, software/controls, suppliers)
- Work with appropriate departments to ensure that design specifications meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards.
- Problem identification and troubleshooting of a wide range of complex engineering problems. Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.E) or equivalent in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3-8 years' experience in related engineering field with increasing scope complexity
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced thriving environment with minimal direction
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Autocad and Arena
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and global development experience
- Acute attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle complex projects and meet deadlines
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lead, motivate, develop
- Regarded as a technical expert in their field
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks PDM
