Summary & context: The Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing the company's regulatory and compliance requirements and will play a key role in developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance, implementation and maintenance of applicable laws and regulations. The role requires partnering with various state level agriculture departments to identify and manage compliance adherence & risks, conduct internal audits, and maintain & guide a culture of integrity and ethics throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: Liaison with state and central government agriculture departments and relevant government authorities for associated compliances and advocates for on-going litigation Ensuring licenses, PCs, and all other relevant compliances at a warehouse level are always in a non-expired mode Develop and implement effective compliance programs, including policies, procedures and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. Manage and maintain company compliance across all states. Drafting and reviewing of agreements/ MoU’s Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and communicate effectively with external auditors, as needed and advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports. Assess company operations to determine compliance risk. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance weakness and develop mitigation measures. Ensure all employees are trained and educated on the latest regulations, internal processes, compliance procedures and ethical standards including communication with the various departments. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the organization and advise employees on necessary actions. Work with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on compliance issues and provide solutions to address potential issues. Plan and conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of existing compliance controls and identify areas for improvement. Identify and address compliance problems, violations, or incidents, and implement corrective actions as needed. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and compliance issues to keep the corporate process intact. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in compliance or related discipline In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards. Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization. Attentive to detail, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities at the same time. Ability to maintain confidentiality and tactfully handle sensitive information. Must be willing to travel. Highly analytical with strong attention to documentation detailing. Personal Qualities: Highly discreet and trustworthy. Quick learner who can adapt to rapidly changing situations.
