Project Overview:

Project Management Unit for Technical Support and Implementation of Comprehensive Disaster Planning, Mitigation, Management and Response for Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Government of Maharashtra

Role Overview: He/She would be responsible for end-to-end communication and knowledge management for the Disaster Management Project. Opportunity to create ground breaking communication, awareness campaign programs for a first of its kind DM program in India with a huge scope for innovation, scale and replication potential.

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Team leader and client in preparing a communication plan Designing and implementing the communications strategy across all interventions of the project in both English and Marathi as per client requirements Convert complex information into articles, case studies, blogs, reports, informative creatives, PPTs or any other written content Translate the impact of project work into written narratives Liaise with project teams to understand the work being done and communicate it via social media platforms to the larger audience Travel to district level offices and interact with district teams to collect data, photographs, impact numbers and statistics by meeting and interacting with project stakeholders Create and manage external branding and positioning of the project in collaboration with the PR agency of Palladium as and when required He/ She should be well versed in identifying end beneficiary/audience pulse, needs and design appropriate promotion and other communications techniques to reach them. Overall coordination with the R&R Department for the communication aspects Handles the digital, social, and print media for the Department if required Conduct /handle / monitor the promotion and outreach programs of the Department Responsible for Grievance Redressal and Knowledge Management of the program Handle the Public relation activities of the Department including Press Release, Press Conference, media handling Monitor and manage all the external communication on behalf of the Department Verify and approve all the content related to the Department before publishing it in press or electronic or digital or social media. Coordinate with different stakeholder for content generation for articles, reports etc. Manage and maintain the core content of the official website and other social media handles. Prepare text content, web content, digital media content, participatory governance related polls, surveys for citizens, broadcasting information on behalf of the department Help in end to end knowledge management including collecting, compiling, organizing project related information and data and store in proper formats.

Qualifications and Experience Required: Post-graduate University Degree in journalism, communication, or related field with minimum of 5 years of experience Experience in managing KM and Communication for similar transformation programs, Preferred experience in branding, communication, outreach activities related to public services/ social impact and development sector Experience/knowledge of website and social media technologies and applications and other communication channels Excellent writing skills, and synthesizing research/policy reports for multiple audiences Knowledge of Marathi is must.
